UNFAILING LOVE But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His unfailing love. Psalm 33:18 The words of the song at church linger in my thoughts today, playing a sweet tune of hope and unconditional love. “You see the depths of my heart and You love me the same. You are amazing God!” (Chris Tomlin) The depths of my heart - seen and known. I pause to reflect on all my heart is holding on to. It’s not all goodness and gratitude if I’m being honest. There is some grumbling and disappointment and questions going on in there. It’s astounding God knows and sees every unspoken thought I have, and all the other stuff not so lovely, and yet – He loves me just the same. Undeserving. All Grace. And it’s what I need to hold on to as I begin a new week - the Father's eyes are on me! "If I am faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot disown Himself.” (2 Timothy 2:13) As the sun rises over the city this morning, I think of all the people covered in the Light of God. There's a whole world who needs to be reminded – God’s love is faithful. The unconditional love of a Father. And I hear the word “daughter” whispered in my spirit. PRAYER: Lord, Your love is all grace. Thank you for Your faithful love for me. Let your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you. PRAYER FOR THE CITY - "Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God." FALL AFRESH ON US 

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting... All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit. Acts 2 

They were all gathered together. Seeking. Longing. Waiting for God. 

And the power of the Holy Spirit came and filled them, enabling them to speak and act and live beyond their own abilities. 

Amazing grace. 

It's an incredible experience when we gather together as believers to intentionally seek God's presence,

“When we seek Him, we will find Him.”

And to know this supernatural power is available to us too. God continually pours out His Spirit on all who believe in every generation. 

Wind of God blow. Breathe on us!  Fill us with Your power to change the world.

 The Spirit-filled life is not a special, deluxe addition of Christianity. It is part and parcel of the total plan of God for all His people. -A. W. Tozer 

PRAYER: Lord, with open hands and an open heart we cry out, "We believe!" Fill us afresh today with the power of Your Holy Spirit.

SUNSET BLESSINGS 

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 1Corinthians 13:7 

The ring I gave to my hubby has it engraved inside. Lots of wedding ceremonies recite it. Most people have heard it quoted. 

But the Bible's "love is" description found in 1st Corinthians 13 is difficult to live out if we're being honest. 

Marriage is a gift. And it is hard work. 

And I happen to have a conversation today with a gentleman whose marriage is struggling. 

So as the sun sinks low in the sky and I look out over the city I ask God's blessing, protection, restoration and healing over marriages. 

And I'm reminded with each setting sun of the gifts in my life, and the need for forgiveness and grace, and the power to bless the world around me by a simple prayer. 

PRAYERS OF BLESSING:

And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment. Phil. 1:9  May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other. 1Thess. 3:12  As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord. Josh. 24:15 May there be peace within your walls. Ps. 122:7 " May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us. Psalm 90:17
