i don’t even know where it came from, but today i realized just how bad i am when it comes to blaming myself for things that go wrong.

i started early in the morning, when it’s usually quiet. cashiers aside, the only other people that were working was the manager and the receiver who was trying to put together something from another store. so a customer asked me for help getting something we keep locked up. anything we keep locked up, we also have to walk to the tills for the customer. we keep the keys in this little keyholder that’s guarded with a code and all that, since it’s too much hassle for us to all have our own keys. so i get the keys out, help the customer, put his product to the till and then carried on with the rest of my shift (which was just down-stocking) hours later, a co-worker was doing returns and asked me where one item was. i told her that it’s locked up and since she’s not actually floor staff she didn’t know the codes or anything to get the keys. so i go and grab the keys for her, and they’re not there. i start to panic, thinking back like “WAIT I DID PUT THEM BACK, RIGHT?!”  i start checking around the tills, the different desks - anything i could remember being. i tell a co-worker who tries to help me look. then it gets really busy and i get swarmed by customers asking me all kinds of things, but mean-while my stomach has rolled over and my heart starts racing thinking to myself “where did i leave them?? i swear i put them back!” - i’m not having a panic attack whatsoever, but i could feel myself heading in that direction.

and what happens? another co-worker had them and HE actually forgot to put them back and had them in his pocket.

i just don’t know where this self-blame for everything that goes wrong came from, but it’s apparent it’s something i do more often than i probably realize.

idk why im bothering you and this will probably be all over the place, but the lyrics "these lyrics arent for everyone only few will understand" make me vaguely anxious.. like i dont have depression or anxiety (actually theres a good chance i do but not severe yknow) and as youre aware thats a common.. theme in their songs. its hard to explain, but it just makes me feel bad? like this music isnt for me. i shouldnt be listening to this if i cant make better use of the music.
