When the hyperfixation so strong you buy "merch" that isn't even related to the character
Oh god I’m so worn out. My job stresses me the fuck out, and I’ll be okay and all but ugh.
And my mood to sit down and rp via text is kind of in limbo, considering I’m really into my table tops. (that only meet once a week,WHICH IS FINE because it would eventually become a chore too if we did it more) (Also, i say once a week loosely because We do Pathfinder one week, then Starfinder the next)
But anyways. Mostly posting to apologize to anyone that hasn’t seen me online, or if they have i haven’t been very talkative.
My muses are elsewhere and a part of me is sort of appreciative of that?
I dunno, I go through stages where I like to flex different parts of my creativity and eventually I’ll return to where I once was, but in the mean tie, I just hope everyone bares with me.
I love you guys, and I at least hope that if your here on THIS blog, it mostly means you like my art <3
ANyways, chat with you guys later, I just needed to get that off my chest .
After this leaked yesterday, along with the recent dev interview, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking on the subject of weapons, classes, and how they will be handled in accordance with the current (and potential) cast.
The news of class changing being a gameplay mechanic, along with the addition of, who appears to be, Lissa, gives me some unintentional worry, particularly about the status of Axe Infantry.
Before these tidbits of info, I would’ve given you my nearest guarantee that the fairly unpopular Axe Fighter class would get ample representation in Warriors, as an Infantry version of the, far more believably added, Wyvern Knight archetype. Units like Barst, Arthur, Vaike and Charlotte would almost definitely get their days in the limelight.
Now, I fear, this “guarantee” has sunk to an “unlikely” at best. Humor me, if you will: let’s say the class changing is implemented as a semi-free way of getting that unit a different moveset, without going beyond what the original games allowed (which brings up an interesting renewal of my thoughts on the game choices, which I’ll comment on in a second). So things like ‘Lance-user Great Knight Xander’ or 'Sniper Chrom’ would be possible. This is just speculation, but I assume I won’t be terribly off base.
Lissa, through this system, will likely have War Cleric available to her, opening her up to Axes. Harmless, yeah? To the grand scheme, sure, but to the representation of Axe Users? This could potentially be detrimental.
Imagine every Mercenary, every Cavalier, every Flier, having some sort of Axe class in their repertoire in FEW. Xander having Axes as a Great Knight, Ryoma having them as a Weapon Master, imagine Cordelia being able to class change to Wyvern Knight in reference to SD, taking Axes as her new preference.
When you sit back and realize how many of the classes in FE have Axes as a backup weapon, especially compared to minority of units in the 3 featured games here that use them from base class, the addition of weapon switching and class changing becomes a sign that it could be just an all too convenient way of skipping the Axe Fighter class, because of their lacking popularity, and giving their niche to more popular, and thus more profitable, characters.
It’s even more interesting when you realize class switching might’ve been implemented because Shadow Dragon, Awakening, and Fates are the only games in the series that have class swapping as a gameplay mechanic (besides Echoes). It would make this all come together just a little more conveniently, yeah? I wonder what other character archetypes they’ve potentially botched to fit this plan, like adding Donnel because he has access to classes from the entire weapon tetrahedron, but then not adding Ogma, Vaike, Basilio, Navarre, Barst, Mozu, Wolf, etc. because Donnel is popular and can do all their jobs all by himself.
If I’m right about this, the vast playable cast they’ve been selling this game as having might not be as “vast” as we hope.
Please let me be wrong. Please just let class changing be related to appearance, levelling and moveset expansion, not weapon access and full-on paradigm shifting. Please.
tl;dr - FEW is making me scared because class changing might ruin a metric fuck ton of character’s chances of ever getting more fans.
Extremely self-indulgent Rollo thing that isn't even REMOTELY close to canon but it came to me in a dream last night (literally) and I HAVE to tell the world.
Rollo being part cat-beastman but like, very far removed. Like you wouldn't know because there's hardly any traces left in him. He doesn't have the ears and the tail, but his nails grow to be naturally sharp, he can see well in the dark, and has surprisingly great balance. However, the bane of his existence:
He can purr.
He can usually suppress the urge (not like he's usually very content anyway) but sometimes it slips out and it MORTIFIES him every time.
This is so cringe no one look at me.
I love Rollo Flamme we should talk about Rollo Flamme more
Use this post to talk about Rollo Flamme
Why does this guy say sorry after 80% of the things he says. Like I get it’s probably because the stuff he says it after are usually freaking but still? It also sounds more like an automatic thing than anything else to me which is interesting.
This is my fursona. If you look, you will see she is a dragon. However, if you look closer, you will realize she is actually a cat. The dragon is *her* fursona.
