Even without any kind of signature, he knows exactly who this is from. ❝ I miss you too. We'll see each other again real soon — that's a promise! ❞
Dare we say, an oath, @blitz-heart?
@blitz-heart || Summer Sunset starter
What were the odds.
Not only had Riku mentioned he was busy with other things and couldn't go out for coffee today, but even Prompto, who had initially agreed, suddenly backed out because of training with the Crownsguard. By the time he'd texted the group chat, Sora was already waiting for Kairi on a bench outside the café.
Well, it wasn't like he could stay mad at either of them. Things happened, and Astrals knew Sora wasn't perfect. Heck, he very well may have been the type to forget about other obligations until the very last second and suddenly cancel, too. It was a sticky situation — he could forgive a friend for having to back out. ( Though, Sora did feel a little bad when Prompto insisted the two go ahead without him. )
It wasn't so much the flaking that was the issue for Sora, no. It was the knowledge that now it would just be him and Kairi — which was normal, of course, it had been since they were kids. But knowing that Summer Sunset was coming up soon...well, put two and two together, and there was really no putting off the inevitable any longer.
It's no big deal. Just don't make it weird, and it won't be weird.
A new text came through: Kairi had just arrived. Glancing up from his phone, Sora's posture relaxed, and he waved for her attention.

Shh pretend it's still munday || @blitz-heart
∗ 35﹕ is there a character you consistently have muse for ?
Phwkjfhlskjgh I have two at the moment and they both have brown anime hair
Besides the obvious though, I can drum up muse pretty instantaneously for Lucas and Shinji as well. Even if they're not the most active on the dash, you could dangle me over a comical pit of dubious green ooze and tell me to write Lucas or Shinji on the spot and I could probably live to tell the tale.
∗ 37﹕ have you ever ventured into writing fanfiction ?
MAN...not for a long time, outside of like, drabbles and one-shot type of deals. The last time I wrote and completed a fanfiction was when I was like, 13 and was deep in the throes of my Len Kagamine simp phase. It was a really bad selfship fic ( ftr, not bad because it was selfship. Bad because it was bad ). I even had the audacity to want to write in a love triangle and ask people if they wanted their OCs to be in the fic, only to write the chosen OC as the romantic rival 💀 If the creator of Fermata Vocaloid is out there reading this, girl I'm so sorry, you deserved better.
I would love to dip my toes back into writing fic, except I always way overthink everything and can never get past an overly convoluted outline. I have an eternally unfinished script for my PMMM x Evangelion AU that I have a pipe dream of turning into a doujin, but I always get partway into scripting it out, look back at it months later, realize it only made sense in my dazed, writing-fog-having brain, and scrap the whole thing to start over and repeat the process. Maybe someday...
“You’re supposed to learn that kind of thing when you’re seven years old and you have nothing better to do.” for Ven !

❝ Yeah, I bet. It looks nice, though! ❞
He chuckled easily at the way Kairi phrased it, easily able to picture a young Kairi on the islands, passing the lazy days away by trying to make the star-shaped charms until she finally perfected it. Hers was made of proper seashells, too, the way Aqua had described. Funny how the tradition seemed to be a constant in so many worlds...
...Come to think of it, maybe Ven knew how to make one, once, before he got his from Aqua. But this was just another reminder that he couldn't remember back that far.
Well...maybe one day he would. For now...
❝ ...Hey, maybe you could show me how to make one. If you want. I've been curious how to do them with actual seashells. ❞
@blitz-heart asked: “ The world feels too big for me to be noticed, yet too small to hide. ” Kairi to Cloud! Deeper Conversation Prompts Accepting
Cloud’s snoozing against the wall again, closer to the fountain than he normally is, after randomly deciding to rest once he’d finished one of his patrols. It was relaxing, listening to the rustle of feet moving against the sidewalk. The faint conversations people had that were too far away to make out the words.
Was she talking to him or to herself? Cloud wasn’t sure as his eyes snap open, calm & at ease, fully alert the second he opens his eyes. He shifts, mostly for her to notice he’s there. Stretching slowly, his head tipping forward so he could rub the back of his neck, his hair springing into shape once it was free of the wall.
Was she that keyblade wielder Cid mentioned? The one training under Aqua? She was one of Sora’s lights, wasn’t she? Shifting, he presses his foot back into the wall, slowly bending forward to look at the black cloth hanging from his waist, brushing away a few specs of dirt he found there. Also to make it obvious he was there, if she hadn’t caught on.
“There’s a few good places on the roof.” Cloud mentions, his blue-green eyes inspecting that black cloth. “You just have to look out for the places Cid hasn’t set up his security system.” He turns his leg so he could eye the side of it, brushing off more dirt with a calmness. Patrols were entertaining at times, left behind the peskiest little bits. “If you can glide there’s a few places outside the city.”
Blue-green eyes look at her as he leans against the wall, his eyes closing, as if he doesn’t expect her to stay, it almost seems like he’s drifting back off to a nap before he opens those eyes of his again, looking right to her. Continuing as if he hadn’t just tried to sleep. “They’re a little tricky to get to even with gliding, a few of them have amazing views.”
