Ventus was worried.
Of course he was worried! After being filled in on what happened in the ten years he was asleep? Aqua had just gotten out of that place, and now they were going back? It was only natural for Ven to worry.
As ready as he was to pay the price of his existence all those years ago if it meant keeping her and Terra safe...a part of his heart, the young boy, worried about the three of them being torn apart again when it feels like they've only just been reunited.
But Aqua spoke...
I'm ready. Otherwise, I wouldn't be here.
Ven went quiet, and a renewed determination gradually brightened his expression again.
❝ You're right. We'll be fine. ❞ Who was he to ever doubt that they would? Aqua and Terra both were some of the strongest people he knew. Besides, even if misfortune were to befall them...they'd always find their way back to each other. Always.
❝ Let's do this. Together. ❞
❝ I didn’t mean to ruin your life. ❞
"What? No." Terra gasped, shocked at the admission from her, "No, don't be sorry. You didn't ruin anyone's lives."
Terra's heart ached for her. Deep down, he understood why she felt that way. For the longest time, he felt like he had dragged his closest friends into the darkness by walking headfirst into it himself.
He stifled his emotions and cleared his throat, leaning forward to put a hand on Aqua's shoulder.
"Remember that it was Xehanort that was ultimately the one to blame for all of this."
Years of his life, gone so quick. He still had a hard time adjusting.
"You can't... you can't shoulder the blame on yourself, just like I can't on myself. That's not fair."
He put both hands on Aqua's shoulders
"Look at me, Aqua. You did not ruin my life, okay?"
