Prestige

“The best things in life are free”

The most expensive thing that I have bought so far is a watch from a Swiss Luxury brand called Tissot. I love watches so much! In fact I own a lot of watch from different bands, ranging from Rado, Guess, Swatch, Pierre Cardin, G-shock, Swiss Military, Fossil and Uni-Silver. My everyday watch is from Guess and Uni-Silver, the rest I would wear it for an occasion or a special event. 

Reasons why I chose the watch from Tissot

Going back, the reasons that I chose Tissot, is not because of the brand but because of its marvelous designs, yes Tissot is one of the most prestigious brand for luxury watches and it is also one of the Swiss luxury watch maker that provides some of the best designing watches for both men and women. All the watches from Tissot look so refreshing, transparent, and has astonishing specs. It can be called one of the sophisticated and classic beauty wearing watches and I really love its intricate design.

Am I satisfied with that expensive possession?

Yes, the fact that I save money to buy this tissot watch and my parents lend me some of their money to buy it for my birthday is more than enough for me to be satisfied and for them that watch is their gift. (my parents helped me because the money I saved is not enough to buy this watch because its too expensive and for them they consider it as a gift)

Do you still consider buying another one when a new model comes out in the market?

I guess when a new model from Tissot comes out in the market, I will not buy another one. Why? Because It so expensive! (It will cost me an arm and a leg if I bought again) and I already have one and I’m contended by it. And the watch that I have is more special, since it is a gift from the two most important people in the world for me and I save money to buy this with the help of my parents so I don’t need a new model.

But what if it is not a gift? Will I buy another one? Again, gift or not a gift. I already have one, and that reason alone is enough, so I will not buy a new model, lets be practical.

Yes I love watches so much! But I always hold on to this though that no matter how good and expensive the products you possess right now, it’s most likely that they will soon become obsolete, with newer, upgraded versions of them always coming out in the market. (And besides I already have a Tissot, so no need for me to buy a new model from the same brand. Next time I’ll buy in another brand! nahhhhh I’m just joking!)

As I grew older, I realize that being constantly focused on acquiring more possessions will not allow you to focus on what truly matters in life. Life’s journey is short, so be sure to make the most out of it.

HappYness

What makes you happy? Is it your family, friends, money, job, or the simple things? What if your wife left you with your son, you lost your house, you lost your savings card, and you only have a job but has no salary? Again, I’ll ask you. What makes you happy?

I know a person who had the same story. It was Christopher Gardner. Sunday night, struggling to have a topic I’ll be using for this blog, I remembered the movie “Pursuit of Happyness.” Don’t mind the misspelled word; it is how it is spelled. It is on the first part of the movie, when Christopher saw the word “happiness” misspelled as “happyness”, outside the day care center his son was attending.  I watched it when I was in fourth year high school. It is a true to life story of Christopher Gardner. I was amazed by his determination in life. He did everything just to pursue his dream and to be happy as well. I was also touched at the last part of the movie when he became a stock broker and he rushed into the day care center and hugged his son. One remarkable quote for me that he said in the film was, “Don’t ever let somebody tell you, you can’t do something” and “If you want something, go get it, period.” With his hardships, he made it. He became not just a successful person but a multi-millionaire. The lesson that I learned was, no matter what it takes, if you want something, you will do everything just to have it.

Some would say that happiness is when a person feels a positive emotion, enjoyment, pleasure, contentment and satisfaction. But for me, it is when you did everything for something and you know it is worth it. It is not about the fancy things in life. It is your efforts and sacrifices just to have it. I consider family and friends as bonus gifts from God. And if you have a family and true friends, be happy and thankful for you are blessed. 

Just so you know. According to YourDictionary definition and usage example, the pursuit of happiness is defined as a fundamental right mentioned in the Declaration of Independence (In United States of America) to freely pursue joy and live life in a way that makes you happy, as long as you don’t do anything illegal or violates the rights of others.
