China-based Transsion Holdings made its debut in India in August with Infinix Note 4 and Hot 4 Pro smartphones that did not make much of a noise in the competitive domestic smartphone market.

Now, the company has launched Infinix Zero 5 that joins the race of dual-camera devices coming from its Chinese counterparts that have flooded the Indian market. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Launched at Rs 17,999(N100,573)  Zero 5 with 64GB onboard storage and 6GB RAM essentially competes with the likes of Honor 9i. Here is how the smartphone fares in everyday usage. Infinix Zero 5 sports a metal unibody design that is free of any creek and felt top-notch. The edges are smooth and offer an ergonomic grip while adding to the premium feel even as the phone sports a big design language. The 5.98-inch Full HD display with 2.5D glass atop it was rich and bright.

We found the pictures to be satisfactory in proper lighting conditions. Colour reproduction was good; so was the saturation level. An octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 processor, coupled with 6GB RAM, does its job well in terms of multi-tasking and running several applications simultaneously. We did not notice any significant stutter while playing games, browsing YouTube and using social media apps. A hefty 4350mAh battery powers the device that easily lasted over a day for us on moderate usage, with 4G running on one SIM slot. The company's custom XOS 3.0 user interface (UI) based on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system (OS) is smooth but do not expect it to be similar to stock Android OS. What does not work? The 16MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture and flash is strictly okay. Images taken from the front shooter lacked detail. Image taken from the primary camera took quite some time to process -- there was significant shutter lag. The photos clicked under low-light conditions had noise. Samsung is reportedly working on a new version of the DeX Station that was first introduced with the Galaxy S8. The second generation DeX Pad is likely to resemble more of a wireless charging pad than a dock and will accompany the Galaxy S9.

The source comes on the back of reports by popular leaker @evleaks that suggested a revamped DeX station was in the works for the next Galaxy.

This would remove the need to have to carry around a separate keyboard and mouse to use your device as a portable computer.

The phone will still need to be connected somehow to the USB Type-C port so Samsung will need to come up with some clever method of making connecting the Galaxy S9 a slick process and also hiding the connecting port when not in use. It’ll probably be similar to the fold-away connector on the Gear VR.

We all love the next generation flagship smartphone from Apple, dubbed as the Apple iPhone X (except for the price tag). The main reason that the flagship from the Cupertino tech giant caught our attention for the fact that, the smartphone offers an almost bezel-less design with a notchy notch. If we think Samsung as the stark laboratories, then this will be the Iron Man’s smartphone.

If we look at the Apple iPhone X, the OLED display on the device is manufactured by Samsung, so, now they know it all and the Korea is ready to take on the United States (Not Kim Jong Un’s Korea, but the other one). If the rumours are to be believed, Samsung is working on a revolutionary smartphone (word is inspired by Apple keynotes), which completely changes the perspective of a smartphone with all aspects. Achieving this engineering marvel is not easy as it looks. In fact, the technology behind this idea involves of bending the actual display from all the corners to give it a proper shape. After the display, other technical challenges for this smartphone is the placement of sensors, selfie camera, main microphone, and the fingerprint scanner. Samsung might try to solve these puzzle in the following fashion. As the current generation flagship smartphones already have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, the company is expected to leave that feature undisturbed, however, there are chances for the display mounted biometric scanner as well. So, for the phone might use a Piezoelectric Ceramic Acoustic Technology instead of the microphone (which was used on the Xiaomi Mi MIX). Just like the display mounted biometric scanner, the company might offer a display mounted the front-facing camera as well (Samsung has all the resources it needs to develop out of the box technology). So, if Samsung retails the smartphone for (say $2000) it will be due to technical difficulties of the production. However, over the time frame, the smartphone is expected to share the internals with its siblings and by that time we can expect smartphones which can do more than this. So, one may ask when can we expect a smartphone like this from Samsung. We at the Phone bulletin believe that this technology will not be available to the end users at least until 2019.
