"Pluto." Affection swells on her tone as she reaches for the original vampire and wraps her hands around his. It is a pleasant surprise, to see the vampire before her while on her self-assigned exile to the Pyramid. Trivia cannot leave, not if she wants to avoid any risks to her current mortality, so she had resigned herself to not seeing her friend turned lover until after the attack, as he had failed to pick a side. Not quite surprising, with his propensity for solitude, but almost odd if she begins thinking at it for too long. It is their long history that has kept her from prying into his future with her magic, it is their friendship that has kept her from doubting him — it is her yearning for the sort of love she had for her husband that keeps her making the same mistake she made with Remus, that of trusting someone she knows will do anything to accomplish his goals —. Squeezing his hand fondly, she looks up and smiles. "What brings you here, moonlight dearest?"

Decadent food turning into human entrails in his mouth was hardly a shock to Xerxes. Organs made an excellent chaser to a gluttonous blood binge. Now that his mind was free from the urge to take revenge on Hamlet, Xerxes was able to better take stock of his situation. Rome was devastated, mistrust and division had been sewn, and Romulus was still nowhere to be found. He cried over that fact during intermission, but he couldn't afford to be sad. He had to keep moving forward towards unity. His daylight ring chiming in his ear reminded him of that.

Though strangely, it wasn't the ring keeping him in check. Even with the lycan threat, his natural impulse was to add to the chaos. He was a scourge and humans were falling weak all over the city. Xerxes should've been drunk on the blood of the ill by now, but instead, this new tie of his kept him bound to the palace. "Magic is so ... annoying. I'm sorry I was useless," he laments to Pluto, slumped against the wall, but he didn't despair. Xerxes saw the current state of Rome in a way Romulus would never, as an opportunity to show to the King of Plagues himself the depths of his own depravity. "It's not all bad though. This sickness might not be ours, but we could still enjoy it. Plague blood is so warm and delicious. I tore through scores of sickly meat in the fourteenth century. With permission, of course. We could feed together. For hours and hours, never stopping..." Xerxes didn't realize how hungry he actually was until he began speaking on the subject. His eyes were dark and veiny, his drool was shimmering on his lips. "I've heard the stories of your devastation. I can prove I'm just like you if you let me."

It was something of a chill, like a dark shadow coming from nothing and casting itself over Gael. After a jumpscare and a frantic look around, the thrall saw nothing out of the ordinary. Still, tension remained in his body as if often did when he felt terror. Gael was ... primed in a way to enjoy the electricity of being scared. It was essentially when spending as much time as he did in the gaze of immaculate predators. Though, if one had come into this place he figured it wasn't to spy on him. "He's not up for company, so you should leave. Let him be alone in peace." Why everyone was so intent on disrupting Hakan's grief was beyond him, but Gael was honored to provide all of the Dracul's needs whether it be chores or security. However, his grip on his broomstick tightened when he finally caught the obscured silhouette from the corner of his eye. He'd seen this one feed and fuck before, and Gael never forgot a pair of fangs. His throat went dry as he recalled the other vampires practically worshiping him like a god. Gael himself certainly had way more than a second cumming in his corner because of the ancient one. "I'm sorry, but I can't be bullied into letting you see him."

"I heard one of your progeny is itching to create a new Roman tradition," Trivia says mildly as she appears next to the Original Vampire, a brow raised as she glances up to meet his gaze calmly. Her presence by his side is not forgiveness, not yet. It isn't even trust. But the holiday spirit had gotten to her, and a pleasant conversation and what it might lead to doesn't require either. At least not for them. Serving herself another glass of mulled wine, she offers one to Pluto as well. "Seems amusing enough, will I see you there?"

Yes things were bad, but they still held the Pyramid. Others may have wanted to evacuate or hide inside, but not Xerxes. He could monitor the outside and quickly dispatch any of the enemies that got close. His senses were sharp and his killer instinct was primed. A foolish faerie or stupid dog would be fun to rip apart, but more than that he was fantasizing about Pluto giving him a head pat and a hearty 'attaboy' for keeping everyone safe from the enemy. Perhaps that's why Xerxes didn't notice the Original approach, striking blindly out of instinct once he picked up on a presence right behind him. "Hey you're back! Wow, you're so sneaky. I bet our side is gonna win big time because of your awesomeness," he comments cheerily once he tugs his fist from Pluto's defensive grip. As quick as Xerxes was, there was no chance he would've landed that hit, demonstrating to him just how great Pluto was. "Nothing to report yet, but they're coming. Can't tell who will arrive first, but from the sounds of it shit is gonna go down here. Don't you want to be inside when everything clashes?"
