viktor knocked first, an allowance he hadn’t really had to give to theris before this. then again, he hadn’t seen him since... well since they’d seen each other before the castle. viktor was just happy he was safe, and when he found out... well, he knew he needed to talk to him.

see...if things were all right?

“THERIS? IT... IT’S ME... CAN WE...TALK?” he asked. “I CAN...PAY IF I MUST.”

“NO, IT CAN’T BE,” he whispered to himself, fingers twitching at his side. he was, thankfully, uninjured from the fight with the beast, and he was thankfully unscarred by the sight of the nude man ripping from the beast’s chest. (he was unsure if the beast and the nude man were the same person. he had not asked. nor had he cared much to ask.)

however, the sight of theris just across the way was enough to make viktor’s heart STOP. how long had it been? since he had seen — since he had —?

the memory of his own betrayal colored his memory. would theris even want to see him? would he care that viktor had come out unscathed?

“THERIS?” he breathes, stepping closer to the man. he yearned to reach out and touch him. run his fingers through those black tresses he had missed so dearly. “IS IT REALLY YOU?”
