The Mighty Taniwha

Decided to retouch up Tāwirimaru, my taniwha titan, and aaaaa I'm like so proud of this hehe

But yeah, drew him because over on Tiktok, the people crave for Māori transformers and I shall provide :,D

THE CHIEF OF THE BLOODLINE

(Posting on here again because I like lost all motivation and then Roman Reigns won the World Heavyweight Championship title and so DARKSCALE IS BACKKKK)

And for those who don't know about the necklace Darkscale's wearing then lemme explain real quick! The Ula Fala is a traditional necklace in Samoan culture that mainly represents chieftain status, it's a very important symbol within the culture and usually worn during formal occasions, celebrations or to honour special guests. Darkscale wears one because he lives, breathes and honours the Samoan culture despite being an entirely different species. He and his tribe inherited cultures from all around the World but Samoa was something that really built a strong foundation between him and his new life on Earth And once bestowed the title of Chief from the villages, they also renamed him to Tautua. To strangers, Autobots and Decepticons, he's known as Chief Darkscale but to his Bloodline and the villages? He's simply Chief Tautua 🙌

ANNNNNND HE'S FINALLY DRAWN JDSHBJDHSBSD Decided to post this now because it's currently May 31st, which is the last day of AAPI Month (Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month) and I've decided to celebrate with one of my cultures! :,D

This took me a good while to actually do because oof, he's got a lot of cultural patterns I needed to go over properly. I tried to keep his design as simple as possible (mainly cause I wanna daw him again and make it easier on myself) BUT THEN YEAH, THOSE SAMOAN PATTERNS CAME IN

But I'm really happy with how he looks hehe

SOOOOO HERE HE IS, THE CHEIF OF THE PREDACON TRIBE: THE BLOODLINE (and yes, I use the EM Dash and NO, no AI was used. We hate AI in this household)

I wanted to do draw something related to my culture. I'm half Māori and love dragons of all kind so I had to use one of our mythologies which is a Taniwha. Taniwha are many things but the one I grew up with is that they were sea serpents and guardians of the lakes, rivers and oceans around Aotearoa and since I'm in my transformers phase, I decided to just slam those two together.

So here is Tāwhirimaru 🌊

Tāwhirimaru briefly means 'Stormgaurd' as Tāwhiri = storm/wind and maru = shelter or shade.

He's a massive Predacon that only dwells around the oceans of Aotearoa. Just like his name hints at, he's a guardian than an aggressor, watching over the Earth's seas for millennia :>

The Bloodline 🩸

So yeah, I'm a big WWE fan AND Samoan/Mãori and I was inspired by the Bloodline to make my own Bloodline but in a Predacon tribe typa way hehe

SO YESSSSS This is a Predacon tribe called 'The Bloodline', they're a mixture of Predacons and Maximals alike who have made their home on Earth, specifically near the Pacific. The follow and respect the cultures around them, inheriting them as their own, so most members are basically Polynesian coded.

l've seen soooo many people intertwine their culture with their ocs so | HAD to do it with my own :, D

AND THAT IS THE BLOODLINE (So far)

So we got:

Darkscale (Tautua) - The Chief

Ashcarion (Tusitala) - The Wiseman

Bloodspire (Manatua) - The Right Hand

Blazemark (Malosi) - The Honorary Chief/Second in Command

Blackfang (Nafanua) - The Enforcer

And they ALLLL are Samoan (like me hehe)

But yesss, I've got a Predacon tribe!!

Kia ora, talofa lava!

This account is basically a little space for me to share the Predacon tribe I've made and also a space that allows me to combine my current fixation (Transformers) with my Polynesian culture I am Māori and Samoan and I'm actually on a journey of reconnecting with my own cultures. I've never had the opportunity to learn properly so this is a way of inspiring me to learn more. I'm very excited to continue this lil project of mine hehe

Basically, in this storyline:

Predacons, Maximals, Beastformers aren't 'ancient' species of Cybertronians that have been extinct but are basically an alive subspecies alongside Iaconians, Kanonites (if that's right haha), etc

The Bloodline Tribe is a mixture of all kinds of Beastformers such as: - The Main Family - The Land Division - The Sea Division - The Insecticon Division - The Elite Division - Ngāti Matāwhanga - The Moanauiākea Clan

The Bloodline Tribe resides on Earth and have been for many years, inheriting the cultures around them, mainly pasifika cultures
