Bloom they'll never make me hate you, honestly this is why I highly recommend watching a show first before you engage with the fandom because you may think "Oh Bloom is the worst and hates her friends and she's self centered and selfish!" But genuinely rewatching that's NEVER the case.
BLOOM: DEFINITION OF VILLAINIZED BY THE FANDOM
Bloom, or Bloom Peters (if you want a last name for her, none of them really have official last names) is the main protagonist of the 2004 Winx Club, following her finding out she is a fairy and is brought along to Alfea High School/ College for Fairies as a way to understand her powers and later finds out she is the keeper of the power of origin, the dragon flame.
As a result, Bloom is naive and confused by a lot, because at first she was living normal until hearing a voice in her dreams asking her to come find her, this voice is owned by Daphne, the nymph of Magix and we later learn that she is Bloom's late sister who's basically trying to help Bloom understand herself and her powers.
Daphne's character is often questioned a lot, Daphne was killed by the three ancestor witches, when they eternally petrified Domino's (the planet) subjects, king Oritel and queen Marion of Domino stuck in Oritels sword, in season one her goal is mostly to guide and lead Bloom to the truth that her powers really can't be stolen from her and that's she the baddest bitch and she needed to get up and take down the bitches who wanted to run fades with everybody, I'm joking but that's what Daphne's presented to be "a guide"
The fandom hates Bloom, perceiving her as this selfish psycho who wants all the screentime and actively reality warps so things go her way, and I would have agreed if I were as willfully ignorant to not understand that this is literally the nonsense of "Nickelodeon" Bloom, see a few years later, Nickelodeon got ownership of Winx Club and for a bit the songs were bangers but everything became more Bloomcentric than usual, but even then it's never a "it's all about me" thing, like they'll make jokes that Bloom paid the directors to let go of Roxy as if Bloom can control the writers being extremely lazy, even making the "Bloom-ix" transformation.
However Bloom is very much a ride or die friend unlike how much she's called an awful friend, like when Flora's plants got all out of control and when everyone didn't want to stop her from moving out and going to the Black Mud Swamp to finish her experiments, when Stella got lured into that trap and the Trix gave an ultimatum between Stella's life or the ring of Solaria that belongs to well, Stella. When Darcy was trying to kill Musa by dropping cars on her and Bloom was trying to save her and ended up blitzing and stopping the witches, covering Mirta who she just met when the Trix encased them in ice, Bloom who actively lets people understand that Stella really can be sensitive even if she is an ass sometimes, Bloom who vowed to help Layla/Aisha for not Andros to end up like Domino did.
Bloom has this case of survivors guilt, saying she couldn't do anything for "Domino" we're reminded a few times but I figured it was for people who just randomly started Winx and needed a quick understanding of Why Bloom is so eager to help Aisha, not only to stack but the lack of survivors from Domino resulted in Bloom being the last person in the group to achieve her final form: Enchantix, by her sure force of will and that left her with an incomplete Enchantix.
Meaning, Bloom couldn't transform when she exactly wanted to and she could lose control sometimes, and couldn't turn tiny/miniaturize like her friends who's Enchantix was born from sacrifice.
Musa almost dying in a fire, Tecna almost dying when trying to stop the Omega portal from destroying Andros, Flora almost drowning when trying to save her sister (also homegirl got hit with a close range attack) Stella almost died after over exerting herself to save her brainwashed dad who was spelled, Aisha gave up her chance to see again and saved Queen Ligea from death and the poison from getting hit by the Kraken.
Bloom was also going through in season 2 by the grooming plot demonstrated by a fake version of Professor Avalon who's main objective was to get close to Bloom and gain her trust and those around so he could kidnap her and take her back to Lord Darker the big bad of that season, he turned Bloom evil and we got Dark Bloom
Dark Bloom is widely seen as an iconic and bad bitch, but they praise her for everything they criticize of a fake version of Bloom that is built up, I don't really care about Dark Bloom, she is an interesting concept, as an actual character she is just to build the stakes up and she's quickly taken down by Sky's romantic speech of how he's "her sky" and a bunch of other stuff, she's back to normal, final battle with a huge use of Charmix, a side transformation that allows a power-up because the Winx are mostly underpowered this entire season, can't even call them overpowered because they've been getting their asses beat quite a bit into season 2 until they learn spells and get their Charmix.
Faux Avalon is an attractive man, who works with a study close to family trees, Bloom who wants to find out more about her birth parents is already in his net, using her need to understand them more as a way to slip into her mind and place the shadow virus on her to use her, Dark Bloom appears a few episodes before the finale before she was only reverted to evil giggles and being evil hot chick on the side, first appearance dark Bloom says a lot of what's opposite to normal Bloom, this Bloom is condescending and disrespectful belittling the girls and being an overpowered minor antagonist.
When it comes to Sky, they've had a rather rocky relationship in the normal show, The first season everything starts with a lie, Sky and Brandon switch identities to protect Sky from assassination this is let out the bag when Bloom attacks Diaspro, Sky's fiance who he was trying to find a way to leave because he was falling in love with Bloom despite avoiding her, or maybe it was something when she was tricked into thinking she was a witch and then he came to a conclusion to be there for her no matter it all because he made it clear he loves Bloom when talking to Timmy for advice, we soon meet Diaspro who has the superiority complex any royal has, calling Bloom a peasant when they bump into each other and then they get into it after she suspects it's one of the Trix trying to mess with her head , it gets wild, they're found out and Sky's identity is found out because his damn dad outs it.
They often argue in season 2 over Avalon, and in season 3 when Sky is spelled and drugged by Diaspro she tries to save him and it's pretty peaceful.
Speaking of men.
Valtor, the wizard of dark magic made into existence with a small spark of the Dragon Flame/ Dragon Fire is Blooms opposite, he's active in how he steals power for him and the fandom loves to ship him and Bloom and while I don't care, Valtor has well been a danger and is mostly responsible for everything bad happening in season 3 such as all the awful shit I listed with how the girls got their Enchantix and for how much they love to claim Bloom hates her friends secretly or doesn't care, she's been ready to kick ass for her girls like when she was ready to kill Valtor for Tecna's apparent death when they all decided to go fuck up Valtor before closing up the Winx Club just because without her it didn't feel the same for them (To you Tecna haters who say she's not important; also I DO NOT like the live action)
He's also a terrorist who's almost got fairies burned alive, almost drowned the witches, laid siege to Magix with Earthquakes and almost got Red fountain shredded by tornados, seriously the her being selfish never makes sense when they ship her with a man who's been trying to kill her and ruin her life by helping in the drugging of her boyfriend and well being the almost reason of her friends dying, I can only side eye the ones who call Bloom selfish.
Oh and season 4 which I'm rather particular for because it's the season where Nabu dies/coma or whatever coping is done, the conversation on whether she could have saved Nabu is hard because when it was the first time Nabu was hurt, she helped him but that's because he was mostly alive, when Nabu's energy was drained out of him, she could not do much of anything since magic essence works a bit differently but when Bloom can, she does so I'm believing that if there was something she could do, she would have tried her best as she always does but I digress, "if it were Sky she would have tried" well yeah because Sky wasn't dead, "his pulse stopped though!" Well yeah but that doesn't mean anything, in the medical field you do a pulse shock and try to get a pulse back but Nabu actually did the ultimate sacrifice saving a whole race of Fairies.
People even get on Bloom for having two sets of parents, the adoptive and the birth ones, but never have I ever heard such an insensitive thing like "Bloom should give Musa one of her mom's" and for context, Musas mother died... From an illness.... So saying this is kind of crazy.....
