I understand poor officiating on one play and that mistakes are made. Referees in ANY sport don't get enough credit for the correct calls they make. Mistakes are a part of life, an equalizer to success, but it's how we handle the mistakes in our lives and account for them is what makes a real man. The officials in Dallas were not real men in this game.

Nearly every fan I've seen mention the play agrees it was pass interference, but the head of officiating for the game said the flag was picked up for "minimal contact". If a defender gives the receiver one quick, mighty shove, by that definition it wouldn't be pass interference. The rule is not defined by the amount of contact. This was a lame excuse, building on the lack of explanation given to Lions players, coaches, and fans during the game after the call was made. It's okay to admit a mistake, we've seen it before in Detroit. Armando Galarraga's 28 up, 28 down anyone? Jim Joyce apologized and I have tremendous respect for him with how he handled the incident.

Listen to the commentary, go back and read the headlines. This game was about Tony Romo. His Cowboys have been futile, years of failure when they had all the tools. It was a storyline written in Hollywood, couldn't have written a better script for this "comeback story". The calls that followed that clearly propelled Dallas into the end zone made it clear this game was fixed. For the way the Cowboys handled it, ignoring the controversy, even after the game, I hope for the justice of the game that Dallas is embarrassed next week at Lambeau. If nothing else, let it be a clean game. This is one of the biggest blown calls in postseason history, ranked right up there with the "tuck rule". For a sport that has continually downgraded it's quality, I'm starting to become ashamed to be a football fan.
