there is something just, so so so captivating about florian to me. whatever. he's basic, he's boring, e.t.c. but i keep thinking about him. florian, my sweet plain round headed son that nobody likes or talks about. i like the stupid tuft on his head it's funny looking like an exposed nerve ending. i feel like he covers it with his hat because it looks stupid and he's a little embarrassed.
his counterpart juliana is always favored in like every piece of s/v media, fan-made or not, and it??? kind of hurts???? there's basically nothing fandom wise of florian, and if there is, it's usually self insert projection. i don't mind that. it's just that my brain cannot wrap its head around seeing the protagonists as self inserts, even if that's Literally What They're Made For.
masters ex came along and killed a lot of my personal headcanons for like.. everything, which still upsets me a little to this day. i'll say that i feel like they could've handled the scarlet and violet universes way better, because scarlet being favored as the CANON universe and juliana as the CANON protagonist hurts my sweet sweet violet loving soul a little too much lol. like they did Not have to do flo that horrendously. i mean i guess it's great that they made florian the more interesting protagonist by making him come from a sepaeate universe and whatnot, but the paldea gang treating him new and the kitakami sibs not knowing him as well is uuuughhh 😭 horrific. i don't like it. not one bit. at least he's fine with it lmao.
this also overlaps with a lot of my unfortunate rarepairer woes as well but that's a massive can of titan orthworms that i refuse to touch, not even across the multiverse...
