Nylton is the youngest of two brothers. His brother works for the government doing important work, and Nylton's desire to be like his brother is reflected in his own government job - delivering mail! While not exactly the high stakes carrier his brother has landed in, it's still an equally important job. He takes pride in his work and has a lot of (blind) faith in this government's operation. Nylton's blind optimism often rubs the wrong way with others, making him seem almost naive and childlike. The truth is that underneath, he's constantly anxious about his performance, and often holds himself to impossible standards. Outwardly he is very forgiving of others, but inside he is very judgemental of himself. This means he often puts walls up with the people around him and he often doesn't get the emotional support he really needs. While being interested in others romantically, he has never had the confidence in himself to follow through. He loves his parents, but they expect excellence in him and the subtle posturing about his ability to live up to their standards is what has sadly led Nylton to become so guarded and self deprecating. In the end, Nylton just wishes to live up to all the expectations he THINKS other people have of him…. And maybe some of it is true. But he'll never make it there as things are now…
