Deciding that he wasn't really in the mood to actually cook something for dinner that night, feeling far too tired to think about what he was in the mood for let alone actually make said meal; he'd made a stop at the small market a few blocks down the street from where he lived. It would be a quick trip, if it didn't take him too long to choose one of the premade dinners on the shelves of the market. It had been a while since he'd picked up one of the prepackaged meals having learned that it would be much cheaper if he made his meals rather than purchase them already made and if he cooked, at least he'd have a little more variety with what he could make rather than choosing one of the many, but very much the same, meals.
The small market appeared to be empty as he stepped past the opening doors, the clerk behind the register having either not heard the door open or not caring enough to see who'd walked in. Glancing at the baskets set at the entrance, he debated whether to grab one or not before deciding that he wouldn't be grabbing more than what he'd originally planned he made his way further into the store, studying the shelves as he walked past, heading towards the back where cold foods where kept.
He was just making his way past what appeared to be a stack of canned goods, a stack that appeared to barely be kept in place with how many cans where already missing either from the employees not finishing the display or customers just grabbing whatever was closest to them rather then from the top. The thought of the display not lasting very much longer had just crossed his mind when he'd heard what sounded like one of the cans fall to the floor. "Don't you dare," he muttered as he slowed his pace, afraid that any sudden movements on his part may upset the already delicate balance, "do that after I'm gone," he whispered as he continued to slowly make his way past the crooked display, keeping a wary eye on the canned goods as he did so.
He had just enough time to make an aborted move to save the display as whatever had been keeping it up crumpled underneath, seemingly caving in on itself as cans fell and rolled away noisily from the display before stopping a few feet away, up against some of the other shelves and racks. It was just his luck that he'd be the one here when this happened.
