so around a year ago i posted the crab crew's voices

since then some things have changed sooooo time for a redo ✨

crab and unagi's voices have changed, and the three newest members finally have their voices

time to yap about more of the crabby crew (name pending DJNFJNSKNSD)

blue ring is the helmsman (helmswoman?) and also serves as brute strength if the crew gets into trouble. when she was young she used to get into a good deal of fights, usually because snotty kids would try to bully her for her size, but she was strong so she'd usually end up beating them down. it was still pretty taxing on her mental health and she developed anger issues as a result. king crab is admittedly a little scared of her but when they met he could tell she was Going Through It™️ and offered for her to join him to escape her old life and start anew, and she accepted. oddly enough she has a soft spot for kids and treats them exceptionally well, most likely because she doesn't want them to go through what she did, or to end up as bullies like the ones who taunted her in her youth. sardine likes her a lot

horned melon is the navigator, he lived a pretty basic life in dragon city but he was obsessed with the sea and wanted to explore it one day. then king crab and his crew arrived to use the city as a rest stop and at some point horned melon came across them, and promptly begged to join them. king crab found him kind of annoying at first but reluctantly accepted him when he discovered that horned melon had a pretty big hoard of sea maps n stuff that could prove useful to the crew. he slowly grew fond of him, though, he liked the kid's sense of adventure. horned melon is most often seen with blue ring cookie as they work together to steer the ship to the next destination

nigiri is the cook, long before they joined the crew they were an aspiring chef who loved working with food and making recipes their whole life, but their career was cut short when they suffered a kitchen accident that left them with nasty burn scars on both hands. at least that's what they thought until king crab found them. while they can't cook with the exact same speed and precision that they used to they were able to get back on their feet after healing and physical therapy (and relentless encouragement from king crab lol) and they now reside on the ship where they make food for the crew. they're also quick to run off and explore whatever areas the crew stop at to buy new and unique ingredients. on occasion pain does flare up in their hands but they've managed to tough it out and work through it each time

angel's wing is the doctor, she hails from parfaedia and is pretty skilled in healing magic, but they're also highly interested in the more "physical" properties of medicinal work (physical treatments, actual medicine, surgery etc). to her, meeting king crab felt like a sort of "destiny" because they wanted to study medicine outside of magic, and king crab just so happened to be looking for a doctor to join his crew. whenever the crew stops anywhere she usually steers in the direction of any bookstore to find books on medicine, and they also like to forage for herbs and other flora that can be used for healing purposes

(side note, the entire crew having a golden crab emblem somewhere on their body is done on purpose if it wasn't obvious lmao)

this is my oc blue ring cookie!! she’s based on a blue ringed octopus, and captain caviar found them alone in the lower republic when she was a baby and took her in ^^ she’s currently 14-15, she/they, autistic, and an aroace lesbian, and they see republic sailor 2 as an older brother figure ^^
