I love Pokemon Black and White and it's bad critical reception led to the current state of the games today.
It was the first Game that taught me the power of storytelling in Videogames (even if, in retrospective, the story Isn't That Complex or Deep- But I WILL read it as complex and deep as I want)
Most of my Favorite Pokemon come from Gen 5, some examples are Hydreigon, Reshiram, Zekrom (we got so many cool dragons!!!) Serperior, Sammurot, Vennipedde (and I dont even like Bug Pokemon! But they are so funky) Chandelure (a Chandelier but its a ghost that fits my aesthetic! Purple flames and great moves!!!)
N is a great Character, people call him edgy but he doesn't deserve that just because he was "darker" than the other rivals in previous games (but, the entire setting and mood of BW was darker than your average Pokemon Game)
Also! This may just me but he seems to be ADHD coded, which is Great. I think so because across the game he:
1. Fails at social cues reading (Cheren points this out callkng him weird, along some Gym leaders)
2. Finds confort alone/apart from people (or together with Pokemon)
3. Very focused on his objective and he Only will stop when His Objective is done
4. During the game its heavely implied he views you as a friend/rival but wonders if you see him the same way or if you hate him after he reveals to you he is the King of Team Plasma (to the point were he forbids the Shadow Triad of hurting you)
5. Speaks faster than "normal" (His dialogue box text speed is actually faster than any other character! A neat little detail)
6. Has no "filter" when speaking, is brutally honest and is straight to the point always (again, relating to failing to read social clues point, and that he doesn't lie to you Once in the entire Game)
.... Or maybe I'm remebering wrong and proyecting headcanons into him lmao......
(Actually Pokemon Black and White are filled with little touches that I miss a lot. The season changes, the was the music accelerated when you ran, the low health music, or the music for the final Pokemon of the Gym leader, speaking with certain people allowed you to hear changes to the music like adding a piano.....)
God I miss when Pokemon was This Good
