Release of the Day: BLUE STINGRAYS - "Surf-N-Burn" (Epitone/Epitaph) "Surf-N-Burn" is a 1997 surf rock release from members of Tom Petty and Heartbreakers that came out on Epitone/Epitaph and only recently made its way into the streaming services. It's all new to me though and I had the good fortune of listening to it while shopping for groceries this morning. Long-line to check out? Stand stagnant and chill with the dark, slow vibes of "Blue Venus." Scorch your way through aisles where you don't need anything? "Malibu Babylon" will have you ditching and weaving past idle carts. Feeling bold in the freezer section? Grab that box of fishsticks while bopping to "Stingray Stomp." It's all mosquitoes and suburban sprawl here in northern Virginia, but I'll be mentally catching a wave all day...
