This is probably my favorite edit❤️Elvis and Superman remind me a lot of each other, and I know I’m not alone in that. Not only do they share similar physical traits, but there’s something so beautiful about a man with all the power in the world having a gentle, good human soul❤️

It’a almost bittersweet that the first Superman movie released a year after Elvis’ death💔I wonder…if they’d filmed it ten years earlier, would he have been interested in donning that red cape?

Elvis & the Movies - 3/6

I guess TV show is more appropriate in this case. I had a lot of fun making this edit: I grew up watching the original Star Trek series and it remains my favorite - so I was super excited when I learned that Elvis was a Trekkie too! Knowing that he watched the same characters who were so prevalent in my childhood, especially my dear Captain Kirk, means the world to me❤️

Not only that, but my love for Star Trek indirectly foreshadowed my later love for our boy back in 2021: my big 30th birthday gift was a trip to the “Srat Trek Tour” museum in New York City - with a chance to meet Shatner himself! It was the best birthday I’ve ever had and I still think about it a lot. But where does Elvis play into this, you might ask? Well—the museum itself was built and owned by a professional ETA! Who, thanks to the package we bought, put on a personal show for us and a room full of lucky people. It was SO much fun - I only with I’d been as familiar with Elvis’ music back then!

So here’s a little edit reimagining Elvis Presley guest-starring in a Star Trek episode. I used a photo from the 50s because he looks like a li’l science officer🩵

The Colonel would have never gone for this, but I bet if he’d been asked, E himself would’ve agreed!

I’m still bummed Agent Elvis never got another season. While I’m not typically a fan of explicit adult animated content, I felt the series honored Elvis himself extremely well. After growing up in the 90s, where the children’s media I watched parodied him over and over again, it was a breath of fresh air.

Also, my god, was his animated counterpart hot. Never did I think you could capture Elvis’ beauty and charm and cool in a cartoon form but I was proven very wrong and I’m okay with that.

Maybe we’ll get lucky and EPiC will renew Netflix’ interest in continuing the show…I’m not hopeful, but you never know!

Rounding off this project with Elvis as the one and only 007😎Greg Nolan emulated the secret agent vibe so strongly in certain scenes—if only we had a chance to see Elvis spread his acting wings James Bond style!

I am glad “Agent Elvis” exists at least; I really did enjoy that series…but there’s nothing quite like the man himself and imagining what could have been❤️‍🩹❤️

Elvis & the Movies - 1/6

A fun little project I did awhile back. Thought I’d share it here!

As some of you know, I’ve been kind of fixated on Elvis’ Hollywood career for a long time: maybe because I worked in the industry myself for a few years, maybe because 20th Century Hollywood is a particular interest of mine or maybe because I know what it’s like to feel trapped with no control over your life. I don’t know. Either way, I’ve often imagined what it might be like if Elvis had been given a chance to star in different genre films/TV series.

So today please imagine our darling boy as the tragic hero-turned-villain Dorian Gray. The 1945 version of that film is stunning and relies heavily on tone, implication and subtlety. I think Elvis would’ve played the role beautifully if he’d been born a little earlier and allowed to venture into Gothic horror.

(Fun fact, this movie is Angela Lansbury’s first movie - another reason I thought this mashup might be fun!)
