The canon evidence that Bill comes from flatland/flatland-like place comes form an AMA Alex Hirsch did before the finale of the show. In it a fan asked "Do you know what spawned your existence" and his answer was "EDWIN ABBOT ABBOT HAS A DECENT IDEA". That's the only real evidence we've gotten so far. (but the Book of Bill is coming out at the end of the month and fans are hoping we get more insight). Also keep in mind, that Bill is EONS old. Any remnants from his former life as a flatlander would have been erased by years of lying, hiding it, and trying to forget. Most of the fans believe whatever trauma he suffered in flatland has been buried under repression. Also it's canon he's an equilateral, cause the prophetic poem that refers to him says "60 degrees that come in threes". Whether he started as one or not remains to be seen.
