The barrier broke, and alongside it the void expanded. Of course traversing the new territory was it’s own puzzle, but Gaster was good at puzzles, and soon he found that the escape of monster kind would not leave him in the purgatory he expected. In fact, it opened up a whole new world for him. At least, it would until the inevitable reset came to pass. In the meantime confronting humans and fellow monsters was it’s own mess, as most of them couldn’t even see him, but Gaster was certain that there was at least one monster in the world who could see him.
A skeleton in a big blue hoodie napped beneath the shade of a large tree. The ground was wet and the sky was dotted with the grey clouds as the week’s second thunderstorm started to gather overhead. A brown puddle near the sleeper’s feet turned an unearthly shade of black, and a cold disapproving face peered up from it’s depths to stare at the snoozing monster.

A bit of inky black muck began to climb it’s way out from the puddle, crawling toward Sans’s ankle like gnarled black varicose veins.
