Not to use this headcanon to justify his actions, and considering that, to my knowledge, no SMG4 character is neurotypical, so my argument may sound hollow...

To me Mr. Puzzles is most likely in the spectrum.

With his struggle to make friends or even understand people, using TV shows to interact with the world, frequent emotional meltdowns and shutdowns and the strong hint that his Puzzlevision self was a persona he was knowingly playing up for the crowd to recieve validation...

Yeah, I strongly feel like he's autistic. Or at the very least neurodivergent.

premise. based on this ask! softer request, well we all know mr. graham is autistic himself, what about autistic!reader? autist4autist… i think their schedule would be calm, doing small tasks, comforting things (weighted blanket, low lights). could be cute !!

One of the reasons your relationship works so effortlessly is because neither of you expects the other to perform normality.

There is no pressure to maintain constant conversation, no expectation of eye contact

Being together doesn't require either of you to mask! Which makes evenings spent together feel more like relaxing than a social task.

In your home the overhead lights are almost never used anymore, replaced by smaller warm lamps that cast a soft amber glow across the living room.

Thick blankets are draped over the couch, and if the weight of those heavy weighted blankets is not enough, the dogs are always willing to help out.

Will notices the little things that make you uncomfortable, and over time he starts making those adjustments automatically. He doesn't think of them as accommodations. He just wants home to feel as comfortable for you as it does for him.

Routine is something the two of you naturally settle into. The mornings almost always begin the same way, brushing your teeth, feeding the dogs, a pot of coffee you share, then Will heads out.

And your evenings also often share a similar routine, feeding the dogs, making dinner, washing dishes, sitting on the porch.

Some people would call it incredibly repetitive, but neither of you understands why that would be a bad thing. There is something deeply comforting about knowing what tomorrow will look like

Will loves talking about fishing.

He knows the names of hooks you've never heard of, the differences between fishing lines that all look identical to you, why one lure works better in cloudy water while another should only ever be used in the early morning.

He can explain fish behaviour for hours without realising how much time has passed

He has explained the exact same things to you dozens of times.

Probably hundreds even...

He'll stop halfway through explaining the difference between two hooks, frown slightly, and say, "I think I've already told you this."

And every single time, you smile and tell him to keep going anyway

Not because you've forgotten.

But because you genuinely love listening to him !

You love the way his face softens when he talks about something he understands so completely. You love hearing the excitement creep into his voice when he starts rambling without realising it.

There are afternoons where the two of you sit in the garage for hours with an open tackle box between you, listening to him explain knots, bait, rods, reels, fish migration, water temperatures, and stories from trips he's taken years ago.

You could probably recite half of those explanations yourself by now, but you'd still happily listen to them another hundred times if it meant seeing that little smile on his face.

In return, he gives the exact same attention to your own interests. Whatever captures your attention becomes something he learns alongside you.

He asks thoughtful questions, and encourages you to keep talking even if you suddenly worry you've been rambling for too long.

He understands what it feels like to have something inside your head that's simply too wonderful not to share, and he would never make you feel guilty for being excited.

You stim a lot, your hands are almost always doing something, whether it's fidgeting with a blanket, rubbing the seam of your sleeve, or absentmindedly rocking while you read.

Will rarely even notices anymore because his own habits aren't much different.

Recovery/Alone time is treated with the same importance as spending time together. If either of you has had a difficult day, there is never any guilt attached to wanting to be alone for a while.

You both understand that sometimes it's simply what your brain needs.

The thing you love most about Will isn't that he understands autism.

It's that he understands you, just like you understand him.

Autistic Headcanons: Smurfblossom (The Smurfs)

Here are my humanised/pre-Circus versions of the main performers, along with Queenie, Kaufmo, Caine and my OC Nyat.

Pomni is Ra-on, with her Americanised name being Pamela. She's Korean-American, autistic and has anxiety.

Ragatha is Rachel. She is British, autistic and has PTSD and a severely damaged eye. She still has some vision in it, but the eye is so jacked up that she keeps it shut to avoid scaring people.

Jax is Fernando. He is Latino and autistic.

Gangle is Mariko. She is Asian-American, specifically Japanese, autistic and has anxiety.

Kinger is Lewis. He is Italian, autistic and has a lazy eye.

Queenie is Amara. She is African-American, autistic and has endometriosis.

Zooble is Umi. They are Eastern-African-American, autistic, and have a prosthetic arm (and leg, but you can't see it), elbow brace and BDD.

Kaufmo is Malo. He is French, autistic and has possible psychosis.

Nyat is... Nathan. She is a closeted trans woman, English-Australian, working as a courier and autistic. She does later come out and change her name to Natalie.

I don't know if Caine would have a different name if he was human, but he's mixed-race (Black Italian), autistic and has vitiligo!

I might create some designs for Ribbit and the other performers (and Bubble and Gummigoo) after the finale, but who knows!
