Cobalt intimidates him in a way Raven doesn’t: Cobalt is Seelie, and Seelie are cold and terrifying, and Cobalt is large and cold and terrifying

Cobalt wasn’t around in Malachite’s early days, and that makes Mal very grateful, because he definitely stepped into some Seelie territory and gently bent laws and if Cobalt had been there to chase him down Mal would have maybe behaved a little better

It’s canon that none of the Seelie Archfey have ever been friendly with Jasmine. This seems especially interesting/strange because Willow and Jasmine are so close. How did this happen? Was there an explicit order to avoid the twins, or did Cobalt just feel uncomfortable around Adare’s estranged kids, or something else? Most importantly, what would cause this to change?

this is full on fluff but Marigold and Ember have their own special friendship so what if Ember challenged the other twin and the other Guardian to like. BOWLING or something

Cobalt fixing Forest magical hangover-curing foods like the good dad ™ that he is

Cobalt’s one of the few who knows Forest’s true wish and intentions with going into Fidchell and knows that his wish had never been to become fey, so he’s constantly trying to teach Forest about this new world and loop him into the Seelie ways without making it crazy obvious how lost the poor victor is ( I mean this is basically a head canon but like whomp whomp putting it here anyway )

AKA just general Cobalt continuing to teach Forest the ways of the Seelie and/or fey always and probably judging him when he’s not very Seelie

TBH ever since joining FW I sort of had this idea in my head of something going v wrong and Cobalt having to break up a fight between Forest and someone else (TBH probably Sorrel but could be a number of people)

I am so down for a dad & son bro talk about real things like Cobalt & Willow’s relationship struggles and like Cobalt digging in on what is going on with Forest and idkkk emotions

Seriously tho I one day need uncle Forest feels. Need it.

Harvest Reaping

Tiger absolutely causes trouble with the specific intent of Cobalt showing up at the exact moment that she needs him so she does not have to deal with the consequences. I feel like Tiger taught Cobalt how to ballroom dance because he was little once and now he’s very big and he can do all the lifts and she adores it. Tiger is more flamboyant and utterly unreserved around Cobalt than usual because she feels very safe and she knows he will always forgive her. Cobalt is probably the only fey other than Adare and Oleander that Tiger actually trusts.

Sacrificial Bull: For an inner monologue my muse has about yours.

Can’t lie to Cobalt. Can’t lie to anyone but especially not to Cobalt. So...don’t lie. Right, duh, but I can’t hide stuff from him either?? He’s like... My fey-dad. And he’s gonna know. How is Willow doing this? I can’t do this, I don’t want to do this. Of course Cobalt would want what we want, he’s Cobalt. This is dumb, I should just tell him. Hey, Cobalt...so I joined your wife in rebelling against King Adare, but it’s totally not personal? At least for me? I just want him -- well, everyone -- to stop killing people. And Willow want’s a baby. And Onyx...I don’t know what he wants. Yeah. Can’t say that. Can’t just casually mention that everyone he knows and loves is plotting and he wasn’t invited. No Cobalts allowed. This is so dumb! I’m going to tell them they have to tell him because I can’t and I can’t keep it a secret and he’s not going to freak out... it’ll be fin--- shoot.

I’m sure he wouldn’t, like, everyone says he’s super-nice and chill and everything but I just think he’s very capable of breaking you in half. You know? And not in the fun way. Although, let’s be honest, he could also do that… Don’t think about that, Quinn, god! He’s a married man! But like, even the “able to break you in half” thing is like…comforting? Like, because he’s so calm all that power just makes him seem really safe. I feel like I can just…relax entirely around him? Which is so dumb, he’s fey and he’s one of those….whatever they call it. Not royal, but high up there. I shouldn’t feel safe around him.

But I do.

Hazel was tired and ready to end her shift as usual, it was past time. Unfortunately the casino had some high rollers playing tonight, people she didn’t recognize and hoped wouldn’t become regulars, so they’d agreed to keep the kitchen open later than usual. And they weren’t even ordering anything. Hadn’t ordered anything for two hours. 

She couldn’t stay in the kitchen if she wanted to stay awake, someone would grab her if they actually ordered something. Hazel stifled a yawn as she hung up her apron and checked her appearance in the tiny mirror that hung by the door, then headed out into the casino proper. Her first stop? The bar. Hopefully someone back there had the presence of mind to make a pot of coffee. 

No such luck. 

Reluctantly she accepted a red bull, knowing that it’d keep her up far longer than was strictly necessary, but at least she wouldn’t fall asleep on the job. “I’m going to regret this, I just know it,” she said, moving to stand beside Cobalt. Presumably he was acting as extra security, though she had no doubt the gamblers would leave with far thinner wallets than they’d come in with. “You don’t even look tired, it’s not fair.”
