progress on the hair edits, as modeled by rosamund, vivian, and alice. most of these styles are 40s, 50s, and early 60s, so i hope decades players will be able to get some use out of them, even if they're not perfect. i'm trying to fix as many issues with both the meshes and the new textures as possible, but unfortunately i am just not skilled enough to fix everything at this point. i've spent like at least 20 hours in blender by this point lmao. trying to get this finished before school starts up again (next few weeks) but idk if it'll be done in time. i still have 8 meshes left to edit so yaaaaaaay (distant sobbing)
working on some mm retextures of curbs hairs. i still need to go back and mess with some of the hairlines (and the meshes as well, just to delete things since i can't really mesh much at all) but i think it's coming along well for clayifying despite not being able to actually make the mesh mm.
there are other hairs i'm working on that are not going so well lmao. this one looks fine but the swatches are messed up.
this one has a weird lighting problem that i also had with my first retexture of a similar victory rolls hair, and i solved that by finding another recolor and mesh, so idk if i'm going to be able to fix this.
i still want to retexture some acanthussims hairs at some point but again, clayifying alpha hairs is not always easy. back to the drawing board.
the culture shock of being in the ts2 community for so long and then entering the ts4 community is insane. ts2 community is all about building up on what other people have done and being collaborative: you see things like "aelia palette recolor of skell's dress frankenmesh with rented-space's jeans conversion with trapping's boots with deedee's textures" reuploaded 5000 times to 8 different websites to keep the files alive, and then over here in the ts4 community, i've seen creator tous like "no recolors at all, even for personal use." like what are you going to do, come to my house and delete the file? be regular, jeez.
hello everyone, just a little housekeeping announcement for the harrell legacy: today i am posting the last update for the 1890s generation. i am super excited to start working on the 1900s generation, but unfortunately i will not be able to progress very far on that until MCCC gets updated. my game is having very specific problems with aging that i'm not comfortable playing with until MCCC gets fixed. however, i hope you will enjoy the 1900s generation when it comes around. i've had a lot of fun planning out the story, and i think you guys will enjoy reading it.
in other news, i've finally made character pages for the legacy! these pages include a brief bio and profile for all of the characters in the household, as well as a few side characters (coming soon). working with the html was kind of difficult, but i like how things turned out. the bios and family tree are also now in my pinned post for easier mobile navigation.
and finally, while i'm waiting for MCCC to be updated, i'm thinking about making some 1890s lookbooks for my characters. i know that there are already a lot of decades lookbooks on tumblr, but i just think it would be fun. hopefully you guys will enjoy them as well.
thanks for reading my stories! i hope to continue with the harrell legacy sometime in the coming weeks.
the thing about mesh edits is you spend like 20 mins in milkshape making the edit and then 17.5 hours in simpe looking at mts tutorials trying for the love of god to get the mesh functional and into the fucking game
and now after a weekend of playing, my game starts crashing and turning into pink soup >:/
was there an intel/nvidia update or something? my graphics were working fine for months until this >:[
ts2 crashed while i was trying to recreate the simcity societies bookstore and now im too angry to want to remake it so here's a screenshot
