No, bards are fun to play because in Baldur’s gate 3 my bard convinced a demon to kill himself and sent him back to Hell in act 2, and then in act 3 when she broke into hell and stole a bunch of shit from the literal Devil, she rolled a 30 in persuasion and convinced the demon she had kill himself to help kill his own boss and join her side

He looks like absolute shit here. Like I came to pick him up early and asked “ready to go?” and he gives me this look bc he was out late last night and hasn’t gotten to put his makeup on yet. I’m so in love with him.

feel free to correct me, as someone who has only previously played 5e and hasn’t played any previous games in the series or gotten invested in any of the Forgotten Realms canon—

but as I was playing last night and reading through the flavor tomes in the stormshore tabernacle, I got sort of emo about Tieflings not having any gods or mythology of their own. Not even folk heroes. They just have their infernal bloodlines, and the burdens that come with that.

And I know WHY, lore-wise, but as someone playing as a Tiefling bard… that must suck! Even Dragonborn and gith get to have folk hero-gods! 😞

(Anyway, if they DO have these, I haven’t really encountered them in the BG3 canon, either via flavor text or main game dialogue…. I’d love to be wrong!)

we should be grateful that BG3 didn’t give us canon birthdays for anyone, bc if they did, gay ppl would be making endless posts about Astarion like “my man can’t help his chronic # Scorpio/Sagittarius cusp behaviors 🤪🤪😔” “Astarion being a Scorpio/Sag cusp….talk about being doomed by the stars themselves”

figuring out how to draw Karlach bc I have a little comic idea. We’ll see if that ever comes to pass, lol

I think the cutest “everyone liked that” moment I’ve had in BG3 so far is when my Tav went to the music shop in the lower city…There’s a bard dialogue option to talk shop with the shopkeeper, so she started geeking out over music with the shopkeeper in a conversation that canonically went on for hours.

It gave me such a little warm fuzzy feeling, like, “OMG…HER FRIENDS CARE ABOUT HER SPECIAL INTEREST 🥹🥹”

So I’m just picturing her party members standing off to the side in this tiny music shop, smiling warmly as they listen in on these two talk for literal hours. Big “I’m glad she’s having fun” vibes.

ppl have rightfully said ‘it’s really harrowing to play as a Tiefling in BG3 and immediately be faced with racism,’ but for me, an unexpected long term effect of helping the Emerald Grove refugees as a Tiefling and re-encountering them throughout the game has lead me to think of them as family :’)

my Tav bard started the game with no living family, but as I approach the endgame, she now has 2 supernaturally powered nieces (Mol, Arabella) and 3 cousins (Damon, Alfira and her gf…she is still sad about Zevlor)
