I genuinely love the ending where you accept Maruki's reality because putting aside the fact I would unashamedly do it irl, it shows that his deal really didn't have any strings attached, in the sense that he meant every word of what he said, even if he can get desperately manipulative about it (which I interpret it more as "Please, please take the deal. Don't you see how worse things will get?").

There's no hidden agenda, no "sike I'm actually in this for power or shit", hell in a sense Maruki's the one who loses in it the most because he is effectively gone from everyone's lives.

And that's what makes him such a good antagonist, you know? With his goal being genuine and not involving some shit like blending kitties in order to get it, you're left with a much more compelling character that makes you go "Is this right? Is this acceptable? Is it worth it? Should we really stop him?"

This was very incoherent but hhhhh... I love Maruki. Fav P5R character by far.
