Please, if you’d enjoy doing so, could you further elaborate on your thoughts about cdream x ghostbur? It’s always intriguing to hear about ppl’s niche ship ideas
may i warn you that i didn't have an opportunity to dive into character relatioships as deep as fandom veterans have, so be prepared for me possibly being wrong about things
i have this idea in mind about cdream hurting ghostbur for what cwilbur has done to him and his server and, mainly, for him not realising to the fullest extent what his actions led to. but there are a few issues with this idea: first of all, it's not cdream who understands that he has been shoved into a certain role in the narrative that was useful to cwilbur, it's us who understand it (or not); second of all - cdream doesn't blame cwilbur for what happened as much as he should have, as far as i know, instead he blames ctommy. thus our main concept to latch onto should be the fact that ghostbur doesn't remember and that he got to crawl out of everything that's happened so pure and seemingly unimpaired.
and, the thing is - i could really go into the creep direction with this concept, but i don't want to, because for me it would be too ooc, wouldn't be the right portrayal for cdream and also plays into themes i'm not comfortable to explore. so the direction i'm choosing to go in is cdream as a hurt person who lashes out on ghostbur, because it's really easy to, as he has more of a positive and trusting attitude towards cdream and, most of all, reminds him of cwilbur. we could also throw in cdream missing cwilbur (either because of whatever the hell they had going on, or because cdream generally not being good with major changes in his life) and make this whole thing a mix of softness and sorrow and hurt.
there are also a couple random ideas, like this element of missing a person who's not there anymore mind-vise, even though technically they are still alive and physically present, and desperately trying to pretend that it's still how it used to be, that you still have a foe/ally who's up to par, or cdream being able to "go back" on that moment of vulnerability when he showed his face to cwilbur and go deeper into his villain role and dehumanisation. and also some themes i can't elaborate on before i draw ghostbur's design
