I’ve been playing with smart lighting the past 6 months, with every brand from established players like Philips Hue and Sylvania Lightify to innovative startups like Nanoleaf and Ilumi looking to disrupt the lighting industry. Each has its pros and cons (which are discussed in better detail in my 2016 smart light roundup), but in general, smart lighting has definitely improved my overall comfort…
Let me introduce you to the new way to control your lights AND save the environment.
Light bulbs havent really evolved a great day over time. A bulb in a socket and a switch on the wall - amazing. Here however is a product that shows some great changes to the way we light out rooms.
The light bulb itself is an LED light which packs a serious punch for brightness while still consuming far less power than your traditional light bulbs.
The light bulb also has a bluetooth chip built in, what that means is that you can pair it to a phone, laptop or tablet even. This then gives you full control of the light bulb. From switching it on to dimming the light, even change the color (on some bulbs).
Controlled via an app available for iOS, Android, Windows and Mac devices the switch on your wall will start gathering dust.
While they are not available for a couple of months as yet, BluetoothBulb.com tells us that they will be available from $25USD via Amazon.
