I used to be a big fan of angst threads up until a recent tragedy in the family and now I'm too afraid to dwell into such topics. But I'm sure the time will come again. Until then, living the goof life it is. Thank you again, you are a gem <3

Fic rec: grandline pantheon by bluewalk (a.k.a verybrave on tumblr). This is planned as a collection of all Strawhats. If I read this right, it will focus on their origins and tie them to different deities in RL pantheons. So far only the first chapter is posted, but it's a great one. It focuses on little Luffy from the long childhood flashback, right after Sabo is believed dead. it feels very IC.

A heavy weight landed on his shoulders, pressing him into the ground. He shuddered and the world shuddered with him, everything going fuzzy around the edges with hurt and longing. In the end Luffy wasn't able to keep up, he was too small, and Ace, even Ace was small now that Luffy knew a sadness as big as Mount Colubo.

And in this fuzziness, in this crush and wild panic and radiating grief, a familiar voice sounded suddenly, deep like those hidden caves that swallowed up their torchlight, and it seemed to come from within and around and below. It asked him, Will you grow?

One Piece fic rec

The new story can you come down with us by Bluewalk is a terrific little study in character exploration and interaction. Very well-done Luffy POV featuring Nami at first in a low mood and Luffy explaining that it's hard work being happy. It's labelled "Luffy/Nami (maybe?)" and is one of those "shipfic or gen in the eye of the beholder" fics, I would say - I think it works very well as gen if you want it to. Heartfully recommended.
