A statement about Blythe Con UK: It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce that Angels-Cave will not be attending BCUK 2021, or any further Cons run by the current team. With no warning or vendor input they announced that the Con will be run fully online this year. While I understand that need, because of the global pandemic and the need to keep people safe (I myself is in an at risk group!) I was however upset that the vendors had not been asked if they wished to be part of an online event or even if they could be part of an online event. The vendors paid for a physical stall and all that came with it. I requested several times that my vendors ticket be rolled over to the next physical event, that I expect to be in 2022, but my request was ignored and wasn’t even disused. I was also ignored with my request to find out what was expected from me as a vendor during an online event. I found the emails from the team to be both unprofessional and a little rude! I had to be very blunt back and request again my money back, as they are now in breach of the vendors contract. I was then sadly accused of not caring about people’s safety and the global pandemic. This could not be further from the truth. I wish the team luck with the online event and I can only hope they do the right thing for other vendors and attendees who wish to be refunded or roll the ticket over to the next physical event.
