I so so soooo want a Blythe doll to customize and I have been hunting for some time now, but oh lord are they expensive. Ebay is brutal. I get outbid every single time, And I've been bidding consistently for about a month now. I would so love to buy a custom but with the prices the way they are my girl would have to sit alone among my Pullips for a very long time and I don't want that either...
I can now understand why, it seems, a lot of customizers and collectors tend to go for the factory girls. But, I'm not a huge fan of the factory dolls, and I'm too scared I'd buy one that would be poor quality. And for nearly $100 for most of them, I would much rather try to get a real one. But with the Ebay situation I haven't been able to get any girl...and I'm starting to get really discouraged. I wouldn't mind a used doll at all but I can't even get one of those. I'm quickly getting more and more discouraged about Blythe's in general now.
And on a side note I've really wanted to start customizing dolls, and I know theres a lot of hate toward customizers, but the idea of making a girl that someone out there would fall in love with and cherish puts a smile on my face. Even though having some extra cash would be wonderful my motive is not greed. I adore my custom Pullip and the idea of making beautiful dollies for others and having a creative outlet is just wonderful.
Sorry for the rant and hopefully soon I can snag a girl of my own. I just thought posting on here might reach others that have some of the same feelings as I do. Anyways, I hope you all are having a wonderful day and thank you so much for reading~! ^w^
I’ve been wanting to get a Blythe doll for a while now, but I want to customize her. And after looking on tumblr the blythe hobby seems extremely judgemental to customized dolls. I’ve been looking into getting a real blythe not a factory or clone cause personally I’d rather have a genuine blythe. But holy hell people call out owners and customizers by name and throw shade. I’m terrified someone would be mean about my doll. I’m scared enough posting about my Pullips. I don’t understand how people can hide behind anonymity and just tear someone down like that…it’s just really sad.
