Robby is anti PDA especially in the Pitt and Jack pouts about it, but honestly it’s for his own good bc he’d go from hand holding to groping Robby’s ass in 0.2 seconds.
As a result, no one but Dana knows they’re married to each other.
Then after a rough, extra tiring shift, Robby kisses Jack’s cheek on instinct as a goodbye.
They’re the talk of the department and Jack is too buzzy to care. Robby doesn’t realize what he’s done until he wakes up hours later in a cold sweat.

other people: old man yaoi!
me:
Robby and Jack are out together at a club, and while Robby is clueless to the attention he’s getting from others, Jack certainly isn’t. Having lost count of the number of hopefuls he’s shooed away, Jack decides that a more prominent display is needed.
Now Jack just has to figure out how to convince Robby to get a little possessive himself and fuck Jack stupid in public.

“That girl is staring at me,” Jack tells Robby, as they dance together with Jack pressed to Robby’s front in the club, slowly swaying. Robby’s arms are draped loosely around his waist, but at Jack’s words, they tighten.
“Which one?” Robby grumbles.
Of course, the truth is that the girl is and always has been staring at Robby, as have about a dozen other people in this club. Robby is clueless to the fact that he’s being flirted with, despite being offered drinks and dances and numbers and so much more.
He just laughs it off and puts his attention back on Jack, but Jack needs to do something better than just sit quietly while jealousy burns in his chest.
“That one over there. Looking like she wants to get in my pants,” Jack says, although Robby can’t see from this angle. Robby’s arms tighten around his waist, and he presses their bodies close, tucking his chin onto Jack’s shoulder.
“Is she still looking?” Robby asks as he buries his nose in Jack’s neck, kissing it, tilting his head to the side.
She’s still looking at Robby, but her jealousy has soured with a glare. Jack grins, utterly content to be claimed, to be showing all these people that Robby is taken and has affection set on someone else.
Inspired by this post but set in my previous post’s universe
Robby de aging to surgical intern Carter. Everyone, and I mean everyone is shocked. This. This. was Robby, or Carter, or whoever the fuck. This happy ball of sunshine who’s a literal hazard. Who’s gullible enough to set Myrna loose? Thank fuck for Perlah’s intervention. And he’s so pretty. Like big Bambi eyes and all good intentions. He’s still the same size but he’s also only three apples tall.
Not everyone falls for him, obviously. But they’re all endeared. And he’s so nice and cheerful. Then he sees Benton and it’s like those dog videos where they release a hundred tennis balls and they just go wild.
He’s walking right next to Benton, literally brushing up against him. He’s just locked on to the chief and Benton doesn’t seem to mind? He’s just going about his day. Doing consults. Bickering with Al-Hashimi about patients.
Robby’s role is reduced to that of a med student but he’s got the muscle memory of a Chief which leads to him making ridiculous saves and being flabbergasted about it. Benton’s there for one of them and he gives him a typical, “Good boy.” If Robby could float from just good energy he would.
There’s a group chat dedicated to his antics.
Benton sees it as a bit of a redemption on his part. He’s kinder to this Carter, less walled off and quicker to praise. It seems like he flourishes under the new treatment.
Meanwhile Jack’s gnawing at the dry wall. Here’s this Robby, innocent, ambitious, so fucking brilliant, and alive in a way his Robby hasn’t been for years. And he’s practically glued to Benton! The injustice of it all.
At least this Robby seems flustered when Jack flirts with him. It’s really quite adorable.
He’s shy and does that running away thing that looks like just avoidance in older Robby. With baby Robby it’s just endearing. And may trigger some latent prey drive instinct in Jack.
Dana whacks him with a folder, or a book if it’s within reaching distance. She and McKay have formed an alliance to protect young Robby from basically the entire hospital. No joke, every single person who’s interacted with young Robby walks away smitten and trying to find an excuse to see him again. Even Walsh is not immune.
Garcia takes a more, cat who’s found a new exciting mouse to torment, but still!
Their only allies are Gloria and HR, who are stressed. At least patient satisfaction scores are up by 40%.
As for young Robby/Carter, poor baby is ecstatic that Benton isn’t snapping at him 24/7.
Hello, lovely! What’s your take on Jack’s “I’m still your emergency contact, and I do not want to be contacted”?
It feels like there has to be some history behind that, right? Like, something must’ve happened in the past for Robby to list him in the first place. Is it simply because Robby doesn’t really have anyone else, and Jack has been the closest thing to a constant in his life? Or maybe Robby got hurt and when asked for his next of kin, Robby answered “Dr. Abbot at the PTMC” purely on instinct?
Anyway, some angst for you to ponder and chew on hehehe <3
In my mind, they're married. So obviously they'd have each other as their emergency contacts.
But in canon maybe...
Robby thinks about it for a long time. He doesn't have an emergency contact listed. It used to be his bubbe, but she died, then Janey, but once they broke up, it didn't feel right to potentially burden her with that. Dr. Adamson told Robby to put him down after he opened up about his relationship with Janey ending, but now he's gone, too.
It starts to feel like a curse. Everyone Robby trusts will leave in one way or another, so he leaves it blank.
There's an incident in the ED one day, and Robby ends up knocking his head. They're trying to keep him awake, but he's going in and out of consciousness, so no matter what he says, he's getting sent home early.
Dana checks his file, and is heartbroken when she sees it empty. She calls Jack, and when he arrives, she takes him aside and tells him about Robby's lack of contact. After that, Jack muscles his way into Robby's file. He hounds him about it every day until Robby finally shows him the updated profile.
"Happy?"
"Very."
