Idk if someone has tried this before but I thought I’d give it a shot. A big bang is an event where authors write longer fics (10k word minimum over ~6mo) and get paired with artists who create a piece of artwork to go with it (a graphic, playlist, banner, edit, video, etc.) I’ve written for a few in the past and I run @skambigbang and it’s always been a lot of fun as well as motivation to write a longer fic. A link to your fic/art will be posted on the blog (url likely @bmcrbb which won’t link bc I created it 5m ago) on your posting date. You can write for any pairing but no rpf, incest, or sexually explicit scenes with characters that are underage. This post is just to gouge interest. I’ll open official sign ups if enough people are interested. Feel free to message me with any questions or suggestions. Please reblog this if you’re interested so that I can spread the word

Hi! There seems to be sufficient interest in a bmc big bang based on the post I made on my main, so I’ve gone ahead and organized one. What a big bang is (the short version): A big bang is an event where authors write longer fics (10k word minimum over ~6mo) and get paired with artists who create a piece of artwork to go with it (a graphic, playlist, banner, edit, video, etc.) It helps get more longer fics into a fandom, more art into a fandom, and it brings people together. Sign ups and additional information are below the cut. Reblogs would be helpful to spread this around.

Please read the about and the schedule for more information before signing up. I need people who sign up to be committed to actually checking this blog so that I know you’re seeing important announcements. Also, sign up with an email address that you are committed to actually checking please.

In addition, there will be a discord server for participants in this event. It is not required, but it is a good way to work with other people that are in the same boat you are and to easily get information and ask questions. The discord server is a hate free environment. Any ship/character hate will not be tolerated. I don’t want unnecessary drama here.

Rules:

-Fic must be at least 10,000 words long

-No RPF

-No incest

-No ships involving the squip

-No sexually explicit scenes involving minors

-Betas are optional, but recommended. We will have beta sign-ups and will post a google sheet with their information for authors to contact as needed.

-If you are under 18, you may not interact with any work with a rating above T.
