The mirror was only a little bit foggy now, the open door behind you allowing some cooler air to flow into the bathroom. You hadn’t realized your shower was so hot, even after taking the time to dry off and rehang the towel to dry the mirror was still fogged over. You kicked the door to the bedroom open behind you, running your fingers through your wet hair to keep it from hanging over your face. You ran a brush through it quickly, the air a bit cooler on your naked skin as you stood in front of the mirror, watching it slowly defog as you made a face at yourself in the mirror. You brushed your teeth next, eyeing over your body for a moment as you glanced to the spot on the counter where you usually set your pajamas, realizing you forgot them this time.
“Crap,” You muttered, putting your toothbrush away and thinking for a moment about whether or not you had folded laundry yet and had any clean pajamas in the drawer. Before you could finish your thought a wider frame stepped behind you, your eyes darting up to see his. He looked tired, standing in the doorway behind you in a sweaty t-shirt and the pants of his hero costume. You turned around, eyes soft as you looked over him. He had already stripped off the upper half, leaving him in the t-shirt he wore beneath it, and the pants. His shoes were gone already as well, his sock rolled down and ready to be kicked off.
“Hello,” You said, not having heard him come in so being taken a bit by surprise but more so concerned with the look on his face. He had some dried blood on his lip and he looked drained, head drooping from fatigue and jaw tight with tension from the day.
“Izuku?” You stepped towards him, undoing his pants for him and letting him push them down before he tugged his shirt off from the back.
“Hello, love,” He said, tossing his shirt aside towards the hamper, eyeing the open shower curtain and then you again.
“I’m going to shower,” He said, voice quiet. You helped him undress, noting a few bruises across his chest as well as the way he seemed to be favoring his arm a bit, fist clenched and a bit unsteady. You ran your hands across his shoulders, rubbing the tense muscles slowly as you leaned down a bit to eye him beneath the hair that had fallen into his eyes.
“What about a bath,” You suggested, knowing how badly he needed to be resting right now. He tilted his head to the side, letting some of his hair fall from his eyes to look at you. He nodded, going to push aside the curtain further from the tub but you did it first. You pushed the curtain away and put a plug in the drain quickly, turning the water on to run for him.
“Thank you,” He said, reaching out for a moment to touch you but stopping when he realized his hands were a bit dirty. You nodded, taking his hand anyway and guiding him to the tub, letting him step into it and sit down as you got the water ready, also making sure to pull out an extra towel and set it aside for him.
“Do you want music?” You asked, thinking about how you usually listened to music or read a book when you took a bath, hoping it might help him relax. He shook his head, leaning back against the back of the tub, resting his head against the wall as he sank down a bit, the water coming up to cover his ankles and slowly rising over his legs.
“No,” He said, voice trailing off a bit as he peered up at you again as you stood beside the head of the tub, reaching a hand down to gently trail through his hair.
“You, though,” He muttered, taking hold of your hand and tugging you a bit closer, guiding you into the water with him.
“Oh,” You sat down between his legs, his knees shifting a bit to raise up enough to give you room to sit between them, your back against his chest as his arms wound around your waist. You trailed your hands over his slowly, tracing delicate shapes into his skin as the water rose around you both, bubbles forming but not overtaking the tub as you let yourself rest back against his strong chest.
“Do you want to talk about it?” You asked softly, not wanting to pry but he usually wasn’t this quiet. He shook his head, kissing across your shoulder slowly.
“No, just want to rest for a bit,” He whispered and you nodded, picking your leg up and twisting the handle for the water with your foot to turn it off. The water line was just below your shoulders, covering your chest and warming the both of you. You both laid your heads back, eyes closed as you could feel him slowly relaxing, the tension melting off his body over time. After a little bit you sat up and turned to face him, carefully sitting in front of him and grabbing a washcloth from the shelf beside the tub, wetting it and trailing it over his chest and shoulders slowly. He started to sit up and say something but you put a gentle finger to his lips before he could.
“Let me,” You told him and he gave a half smile before sitting back again, letting you clean him off. You ran your fingers through his hair, wetting it and washing it for him, pressing a gentle kiss to his lips once the blood was wiped away. You trailed slow hands down his body, rubbing the spots that felt tense, massaging his shoulders and legs, taking his hands in yours and kissing his fingers. He laid back, eyes closed, the tension fully leaving his face before he sat up.
“I-,” You kissed him before he spoke, knowing he was going to say some kind of thank you or tell you he appreciated you for this, but you wanted him to just sit back and relax, not think too much about it. His hands went to your back, pulling your body a bit closer to his own before you parted, each taking a deep breath and looking into each other's eyes.
“Love you,” He finished and you grinned, brushing your thumbs over the freckles on his cheeks, kissing him again.
