Assassin's Creed: Conflict
So I was recently at a local Target when I saw two new AssCrd games for sale, and I'm not sure whether to be super pumped, or mildly disappointed. On one hand, it holds the promise of more stealth based combat, and more thought provoking historical fiction. On the other hand, stealth has taken backseat to combat in prior titles, and has been thrown out of the car all together in more recent titles, while the story amounts to little more than "Hey, historically significant guy of the time, hi-five! Fight a platoon." Don't get me wrong, I loved Boat Simulator 4: Almost Stealth, but the story didn't seem relevant, non-stealth combat was required through most of the game, and any time they remembered their stealth roots, you were on a boat, which makes things fairly awkward. "Boy, how fun is it to ride this little row boat through this swamp, but I really do wish that galleon would stop hiding behind that vine, like we don't see it. It's creepy and embarrassing. Maybe if we ignore it, it will go away." I fear AC: Rouge will boil down to the same thing. So here is my dilemma: do I give Ubisoft another shot and hope for a thoroughly enjoyable game that has little to do with assassins, or do I ignore it all together and invest in a game that's worth playing?
