As Isuzu pivoted away from car making, concentrating on pickups and SUVs, they also experimented with alternative automotive genres. For the 29th Tokyo Motor Show in 1991, they presented the Isuzu Nagisa, an amphibious all-terrian concept powered by their 3.2-litre V6 engine on land and water. The show's theme was "Discovering a New Relationship: People, Cars, and the Earth as One."
