Today, we decided to head down to the local sub shop for coffee break. Our driller started talking about the recent earthquakes in Japan and how they were getting worse because the earth's poles were flipping. I told him that the poles flipping would do more solar flare related stuff cuz it's not like the earth itself is flipping. It's just the magnetic field. He starts arguing with me about how the earth DOES physically flip on its side and how it happens every 100,000 years, and it's crazy destructive, and it's what caused all the biblical floods and shit. I told him that's crazy the earth definitely does not flip on its side every so often. He goes, "Oh? How do you know? Were you there?" "WERE YOU???" He starts saying how all the scientists are saying that's what happens and how I should go look it up and ask the scientists because that's what's gonna happen. OK. So we walk back to the jobsite, and I go into the office box and ask the inspector (a geologist. A man whom you could call an authority on what the earth do and do not do) and I go "ok mister scientist, is the earth gonna flip?" "Wtf no?" The driller walks in and I turn and go "SEE I TOLD YOU. I TALKED TO THE SCIENTIST LIKE YOU SAID" so he starts going off about how the inspector wouldn't know and that he'd show me the TV show he got this from to "prove" he was right about this. It was some history channel shit dawg. Some gotdang finding Bigfoot ass shit.
