TUNNELS.
Seriously a vocab word I've been scraping for forever.
Thank you for your wisdom. Even if it is limited, def helpful.
Clearly I need to have a talk with Tom. But this helps me to feel like I'll sound slightly less stupid.

Right right. So gauging isn't an act, stretching is.
The size is the gauge.
Am I right?
Are all types of jewelry called plugs, or is that just for the solid ones?
etyma said: 1. I fucking hate prescriptivism, but… “stretch” not “gauge”. 2. There are actually silicone plugs one can use with a thin front you can actually stick thin-gauge jewellery through (if you stretch to at least a 10 or 8). You can even get them in flesh tones.
I've actually always been a bit confused on the terminology and people are always saying how everyone gets it wrong but no one has quite explained what is right so I'm just like ahgodhgkdshfgl.
I believe someone told me one of the issues is people think gauges are a thing and it's more an act or something?? IDK
If you feel motivated to explain more about this shit, I definitely welcome it.
So my only beef with streching is that I feel like if I did it I'd want it to be the first/primary lobe hole in my ears. But I also like dangley earrings... so conflict.
I do have the one pair of earrings that would hang nicely in such a hole, but are pretty long. And I want to be able to wear all my dangles in my first hole!
But today I had a thought.
What if I got a third hole on both ears, stretched those, but still kept it relatively small. Then I could hang those earrings higher up and they'd be less likely to hit my collar necklaces when I wear them.
And then I'm like, "Wait, so my idea is to stretch a third hold just for this one pair of earrings. This seems silly."
But still... something I would do.
I put my stud back in for work, and I flipped up my septum ring and I'm just like...
...my face is so plain.
More... metal...
