WHERE DO YOU SEE THE HUMAN BODY IN THESE ARTICLES?
Can personally relate to this title, as my new years resolution this year was to spend less time on my phone, find myself aimlessly scrolling through apps.. for no reason.I have been told i have “fomo”/something we can all relate to/are guilty of How difficult it is to stay away from social media.. social media = endorphins hit
-I found these articles interesting by comparing them with other articles on a similar topic as well as with one another. It was particularly because of the source, reading similar articles from ‘Huffington post’, ‘NYTimes’ and public health websites, I found this the most interesting as it’s ‘Teen Vogue’, because it is an article directed at young girls/boys who are the main sufferers of this social disease. -Comparing this article with more official documents, from Huffington post, which is more directed at the parents of young social media using children. I found this interesting as the way in which the ‘SMAD’ is approached by two different views. -It is some of these new terms as well that I found interesting to discover. -From what I have discovered is that these articles throw the blame around for who is responsible for the epidemic of young mental health issues.. from blaming the parents, the children’s self control to blaming the large companies that run these websites, who is responsible? Where do we point the finger? -From this research i can say etc.. -The effect on the human body in these articles is the obviously the mental health toll.
Questioning will robots/A.I one day have social media accounts? -Would they also suffer from SMAD?
-Is narcissism referred to/seen as a mental disorder? -when we think of ‘selfie’ we often think of women/young girls/namely Kim Kardshian/girls being narcissistic -blaming parents lack of praisal for their children for this problem -from reading these definitions i cant work out if I'm narcissistic or not? -linking this back to mental health -looking further back into the history of the selfie and how it crept into technology
KEY WORDS: narcissism, Millennial Generation, A.I, mental disorder/ metal disorder, self
THESIS: The cause of technology on our health is not a good one.
