6 weeks of workshops
review
over the past 6 weeks i have learnt, the importance of experimentation and trying different workshops. To trust the mentors and tutors even if the workshops may seem wacky at first.
i have learnt that my work has leant increasingly more towards a feminine theme over the duration of the workshops with many projects projecting often a feminist style or contrasting that to turn some feminine into something more rough. I would like to research further into this, but try to avoid a lot of the current trends and themes are amongst feminine styled work.
i have learnt the importance of public vs personal within different workshops, with some workshops the outcome remaining very personal and others having the possibility to be developed and taken to a wider audience.
not only have i learnt new skills and processes but i have also learnt the value and importance of our class as a studio/working environment/studio culture in which we utilise each other’s strengths to make a strong community.
from these workshops i would like to carry own the exploration of materials and mediums as well as the use of collaboration and possibly look more into performative elements, such as creating characters and situations through dressing up and engaging with the public and looking at social behaviours.
