An ATOM is the smallest build block of MATTER that can EXIST and is composed of a central core NUCLEUS that is surrounded by NEGATIVELY CHARGED ELECTRONS. Within the NUCLEUS, an ATOM contains POSITIVE CHARGED PROTONS and NEUTRALLY CHARGED NEUTRONS.
