It’s 1996, Horsin’ Around has just been cancelled and Bojack is more depressed than ever.

He’s getting hundreds of offers to guest star in TV shows or movies, but nothing could ever compare to Horsin’ Around.

He missed the spotlight, the way people laughed and cheered for him, no other show could give him that. But then he saw an offer for a record label.

i’m a huge fan of 90s music and culture: to me the ‘generic 90s grunge song’ sounds a lot like pearl jam,sound garden, it’s possibly nirvana since they were the biggest band of the early decade but it doesn’t really sound like them. Herb was fired in 1994 which is when they ended.

Anyways, Bojacks parents listened to music and he probably grew up around it, and he has a lot of art around his house so i feel like he appreciated all kinds of art (if this makes sense)

I feel like he would be super excited to be a musician. You get the crowd cheering, the spotlight, everything he missed from Horsin’ Around.

Anyways, few months later the news had got out that Bojack would release him own album, and people were freaking out. By the first few weeks of it being out thousands,almost a million, vinyls were sold!

90s grunge music was very much about expression. It allowed people to express anger, talk about what problems they had. their depression, their addiction(s). It must feel so good to be able to yell about anything you need to get out, it was perfect for bojack.

His career does well for a few years, releasing multiple albums and a few singles but during the early 2000s his msuic starts to decline so he quits the business in 2005.

But yet again Bojack decides he missed it and makes a shot at ‘The Bojack Horseman Show’ but we all know how that played out.

Also he plays guitar to bc he looks like a guitar dude.

Bojack Horseman AU #2:

DEAD HORSE CLUB AU

information messily written as my mind had thought of it

in which BoJack is the one that overdoses and Sarah Lynn survives; focused on Sarah Lynn’s wake up call in dealing with her trauma, damage, and responsibility

Sarah Lynn’s parents play bigger role in the plot

Sarah Lynn just destroys her Oscar; regrets it later

Sarah Lynn bonds with everyone else abused by BoJack

Hollyhock tries to pursue BoJack around the bender period rather than later

Diane and Mister temporarily adopt Hollyhock because Mister is just that nice; Diane is hesitant but eventually Hollyhock likes Diane more than Mister Peanutbutter

come think of it we were robbed of a Diane and Hollyhock interaction; those two would love each other, so I guess this AU can now compensate

Beatrice is not struck with dementia yet, plays big role in the plot—signs of dementia do come up eventually

she is terrifying even to them—bojack wasn’t joking about her

everyone tries to call out beatrice but she gets dementia before anyone has the courage to

well, except for hollyhock; she still gets drugged but no one actually knows how it happened; todd deduces correctly in the most todd way possible

Herb isn’t dead and survives the car accident by not tweeting while driving

todd takes a lot longer to come out—he comes out to herb for what todd believes are very obvious reasons

Events concerning Charlotte, Penny, Todd, Emily and Kelsey still happen though

this AU is just an excuse for me to have Herb and Charlotte rekindle their friendship by stomping on BoJack’s grave

which he deserves btw
