This video cracks me up. It's from March 1987. This was during my Bok Fu Do days at the East-West Kung-Fu Karate school in San Jose, California. I remember they called this "Chinese Boxing" class, but I think it was essentially just a kickboxing class. Our instructor there coaching us was Mr. Kirby and the funniest part of the video to me is just the things he says to us in between rounds (probably out of frustration, haha). My opponent was this kid about the same age as me, John Previte. By all accounts, he was a better fighter than me and he gets the better of most of these exchanges. But I did manage to knock him down once, as you can see around the 1:10 mark. 👊🥋 --Kelly Magovern
