IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED, I got my Okage set from Surugaya, which is still the only place I’ve seen them for sale. There is currently a Rosalyn/James for sale at the time of writing this post. They tend to be priced around 100 to 200 dollars depending on condition of the box(?) but they should all be unopened regardless. My Ari/Stan/Marlene was only 80 USD and the box was near mint in my opinion.

SCREAMS IN UTTER DISBELIEF

I fought Epros for the first time today.

Clarification: In a previous playthrough I'd gotten as far as Addashi before stopping (if memory serves, the reason was my TV stopped working) and I know extensively about the game but I'd never personally been through the Deep Grave Pit or further.

So after recently starting over to replay the game in full, I fought Epros for the first time today. The initial encounter was very brief, enough to get an idea of what the fight was like and begin formulating a strategy. I knew my party probably wasn't ideal and I hadn't stocked up on any of the items I'd no doubt require for the fight, but I went in a second time to see how long I would last with said budding strategy and to determine if any major changes needed to be made.

And wiped out all of his minions in a single turn.

So now I find myself in a very unique situation. Here's a breakdown of the facts:

1) Epros is wholly unaffected by physical attacks, of which Ari exclusively has. 2) My current active party members are Rosalyn and Linda, the latter of whom has zero offensive Specials, and the former has only Ice which he is resistant to. 3) I have a whopping THREE wild strawberries, ONE whim berry and ONE of each elemental bottle in my inventory, by sheer coincidence. (I didn't go shopping because I wasn't planning for this to be a serious attempt)

For the test of my strategy, I used a black cat jewel at the onset, so on top of his minions being entirely vanquished, Epros himself is at half HP. Linda fully Replenished everyone in that same first turn, so I am in GREAT position. If I had items.

Also!? I had Rosalyn use Silence on him and it actually seemed to work, for a long ass time all he did was slap me (storm and mega storm Hurt once he started using them). That was a surprise.

Cursing myself for wasting this perfect once-in-a-lifetime opportunity by not having supplies on hand, I continued trying to fight him anyway, slowly whittling him with Ice and bottles, buffing and healing as necessary. (My whim berry gave 40 LP, that was nice. Also, I know Epros hates Linda but boy he really hates Linda? Seemed to focus on her and killed her half a dozen times once he started casting again.)

Eventually, I was at zero LP, and out of berries. Running very low on nuts and flowers too. One bottle left, literally the only move I can make. I throw it.

Epros' model is replaced by a bag of money. I scream.
