"Bolatras are colonial, parasitic creatures who inhabit dark and damp places. The black, tar-like sludge their body produces carries their spores and is highly infectious. If a creature comes into contact with these spores, it becomes zombie-like and lethargic, and new bolatras slowly start sprouting out of its body."
