Tomorrow, August 11th, Anna Luisa Petrisko and I will perform a live activation of the Emory Douglas: Bold Visual Language exhibition @welcometolace 💫 curated by @essenceh and @dunadarina 💫 . I’ve always loved Emory Douglas’ work, so this is such an honor 🙏🏾 His iconic prints, and use of color, remind me of the importance of aesthetics in black liberation / movement work. . Using interwoven landscapes of video and sound, we will present textural abstractions on diaspora, healing, and community in conversation with Douglas’s work and legacy. .
