“A breach.”
“Yes.”
“In security.”
“Correct.”
“Your people? A breach in security?”
“…Affirmative.”
In literally any other circumstance, Lance would get it. Hell, he’d probably be just as incredulous as Allura. Kolivan? The Blades? A security breach? Yeah, right.
Unfortunately for Lance, he is very familiar with this particular security breach.
“An unidentified individual has assumed the identity of a Blade, and has been taking missions on their behalf.”
“Who’s identity did they take?” It’s Shiro who asks, this time, because Allura is looking at Kolivan with such disappointed disbelief that she’s probably not going to speak for a good, long while.
“They created their own false identity. Akira Romanoff.”
Yeah, Lance is real familiar with Akira Romanoff, security breach in the Blades of Marmora, mysterious person who’s been completing solo missions for the Blade right under their nose, then disappearing. He’d even say he knows this security breach personally. Incredibly personally, in fact. Lance would even say he knows this security breach better than anyone else in the universe.
Lance is the security breach.
And if the Blade of Marmora finds out… Lance doesn’t want to know what will happen.

Initially, I had an angstier idea with Lance failing the trials and all but I felt like I was losing the essence of the character so I made him cocky and confident for this one

After drawing Galtean Plance yesterday, I had to draw them again. Though probably before that scene and with them possibly meeting on the wrong foot. Lance is bigger than her, has a gun in her face, and ready to pull his blade out with his tail. And Pidge? She’s just chilling there, calm and probably in control of the situation.
