I survived ffs :)
An hour before the operation, my surgeon (who im not naming here. dm if you wanna know) came in to check in and asked if I wanted to go over the finalized procedure plan. He said, "there's nothing in here you dont already know about, but it has some 3d renderings of your skull with and without the adjustments. I dont know if your squeamish about looking at skulls."
And I, being a bone collecting goth bitch, giggled and said, "i love looking at skulls."
He grinned, "oh, me too. We have that in common."
Just as he said, there was nothing to go over and he left me to the next medical professional that walked into my room that needed to ask me questions.
Today, I went in to his office to get the stitching and hardware removed. When he touched base at the end of the visit, he brought with him the 3D print of my skull that he and his team used for planning. He once again went over all the things they did and ended by saying "and you can take that home with you when youre done here." I was so happy.
I am so happy.
Girls, transition has been fucking brutal and the initial week healing from this surgery was easily one of the most agonizing experiences ive ever had.
I needed this. Literally a trophy for the mountain I just climbed.
