Since @helliecarousel asked, here’s the x-ray from my car accident. I’m really sorry I can’t put it behind a readmore, but I don’t think it’s too gory? Anyway, this was my right arm two weeks ago. As you can see, the outer bone (the ulna) broke in one place, while the radius snapped in two places. This is what made surgery so tricky; they had to use plates and screws to put everything back in place, and it took two separate incisions. Also, getting that X-ray was the worst pain I’ve ever been in, period. I can’t turn or twist my wrist; the nurses had to manipulate the arm to lay on the X-ray plate. It was awful.
Tomorrow I get to have a new X-ray to see how everything looks now. Should be a good bit better! And, for the record, it turns out you can wiggle your fingers if your arm is broken. Now I know.
