the  place  has  been  still  new  to  her,      even  though  she  has  been  introduced  to  a  few  things  already,     so  far.      what  she's  noticed  is  that  they  have  a  syste  going  around,     she  has  to,       but  wonder,      how  long  it  will  last  for  them.      she  has  bad  experiences  written  all  over  her,      as  big  and  smart  the  group  seems,     she's  worried,      if  they'll  get  to  see  the  next  sunrise.      sometimes  it  feels  as  if  she  was  the  spirit  of  the  bad  things  that  go  down,       the  cause  of  everything.    every  time  she  goes  somewhere,      things  fall  apart.      maybe  she  shouldn't  overthink  it  so  fast,      enjoy  her  stay  and  be  more  glad  that  aj  has  a  proper  roof  to  sleep  under  tonight,      real  meal   to  enjoy  and  a  boy  his  age  to  relate  to.     ‘     i  just  know  how  fast  these things  can  go  to  shit,     that's  all.     ’      she  justifies,      eyes  on  the  other  for  a  second.      ‘     i've  been  to  groups  before,     it's  always  nice  and  good,    until  life  takes  advantage  of  it  again  and  then  the  second  you  look  away...      you're  on  your  own.      you're  alone.     ’

she supposed one would think this her jurisdiction but it wasn’t. yaya had never met anyone like her and even if she had, not everyone dealt with this...condition the same way. newt was better at this, not to mention he was an adult and she wasn’t no matter how mature one might think her.

but she couldn’t do nothing. he seemed frightened. she knew fear well, better than she liked. “ you’re not.... you’re not a monster, you know. you can’t help it. i can’t either. but newt helps me, he’s very nice, he protects me. he can protect you too. ” newt made it seem easy, reassurng someone and making them feel safe. yaya wasn’t sure she was doing a very good job. “ i’m not going to make you come with me, but... i know how you feel. it eats you up inside, makes you do things you can’t control and don’t want to do. it makes you lonely, scared, feel like there is no hope left. but there is, i promise. i wouldn’t be here if there wasn’t. ”
